Skype was already widely used for business purposes but the guys from the social giant have put some thought into releasing a business dedicated platform, which was well received both by reviewers and users that can now benefit from an extended list of functionalities. Skype for Business integrates into MS Office calendar and allows for a wide range of great functionalities. Uses can benefit from group messaging, video chats and calls for no less than 250 people, so if you’re planning on building your business on remote resources, Skype welcomes that and offers all you need to keep a tight link with your partners or employees.
Considering the optimistic perspective of the new service, Skype has announced that a mobile version for both iOS and Android devices will roll out soon. Skype for business will land directly on your Android device, offering even more versatility and greater mobility.
The app will feature a central dashboard, allowing the user to search for contacts, check for and RSVP to upcoming meetings. Users will also be capable to dig through past archived conversations. Skype promises that contacting people will be much easier, thanks to the large onscreen buttons and the full-screen video chat functionality.
Skype is presently recruiting large businesses to join its preview program, before the official release. Once with the official release, which is expected sometime later this year, users will be required to have Lync 2013, a special platform on which the system is built and installed on mobile devices, for further use.
According to official reviews, the calling experience will be extremely different, offering much larger buttons for muting, participant additions and call management. Users will also find it easier to switch between video and text, as they will be able to see them both on screen simultaneously.
Before the official release, IT admins will be able to sign up for an entertaining preview at a Skype’s dedicated preview page. Eight iOS and Android users will be nominated to eventually try out and experience the preview. All willing must apply by this Friday in order first put their hands on the new Skype for business.
