The Xperia Z1 news has been quiet since the IFA announcement six days ago, but now we have a new leak showing the smaller version of the smartphone, the Xperia Z1 Mini, in a high-resolution shot.
Size difference between the Xperia Z1 and Xperia Z1 Mini cannot be understated, even though it is only 0.7-inches smaller, it makes a real difference and shows on the photo. The Xperia Z1 Mini looks minuet compared to the giant big brother.
According to a leak specs sheet a few weeks ago, the Sony Xperia Z1 Mini will not follow conventional rules when it comes to making a smaller device with the same name as the flagship.
Sony will pack a 4.3-inch 720p display on the Xperia Z1 Mini, alongside the Snapdragon 800 CPU, 2GB of RAM, 2400mAh battery and the behemoth 20.7MP inbuilt camera. It will basically be a smaller version of the Xperia Z with near to no differences.
The Sony Xperia Z1 Mini is likely to make an appearance at CES 2014, according to some leakers who found the date. It was surprising when Sony did not reveal the smaller version at IFA, but they may want to give the Xperia Z1 some time to breathe.
From first looks at the specs on the Xperia Z1 Mini, we would say this is a perfect solution for Android users wanting a condensed display size without getting the specs sheet ripped away.
