Sony’s Xperia Z smartphone has landed in the UK after a successful launch in Japan two weeks ago and there is plenty to be excited about. Sony has finally delivered a marquee flagship product that can be a serious contender at the top of the Android tree and give Samsung’s Galaxy S3 and Note 2 a run for their money. We think this high-end slate is a really good offering from the Japanese company and is laden with the highest quality specs that make it a desirable handset.
Sony has already sold 140,000 units in Japan with just one carrier, while it took just two days to sell out in France, so what can we expect in terms of pricing and availability in the UK?
Sony announced the Xperia Z smartphone at CES 2013 back in January and then followed up by pencilling in a February release date. That release date has now arrived, and we are pleased to see that the Xperia Z is making its debut on several major carriers in the United Kingdom, including Three, O2, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U. If you were smart enough to pre-order the handset then you could be a lucky winner of a pair of £300 Sony headphones.
Through Three UK, the Xperia Z is available in black or white and can be picked up on a 24-month contract of £34 a month for £69. It is also available on a pay as you go, but the handset in this instance will set you back £449.99.
With O2 is offering a black or purple variant of the Xperia Z and are offering a load of different tariffs with the cheapest coming in at £47 over 24-months. Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4U are multiple carrier retailers so have various deals for Sony’s flagship.
