The most sharp-sighted Reddit users detected a new feature soon to come to Xbox One which will make all music fans rejoice. During a video which presented the novelties brought to the console, these people were able to catch a short glimpse of the Dashboard, and discover what Microsoft has been preparing. It seems Spotify will be available for Xbox One.
Spotify will finally be available on Xbox
You can watch the video for yourself and see how, around minute nine, the lower left corner of the Dashboard displays the following words: Spotify Music – for Xbox. However, this is not only a rumor. Microsoft is really working on an Xbox version for this app.
No official release date has been made public, but gamers are already excited. So far, they had other alternatives if they wanted to listen to music on their Xbox consoles while playing games. Microsoft offered its own service, called Groove, but consoles supported many other third-party music streaming apps. However, Spotify was not one of them.
It will feature both basic and exclusive features
Spotify is one of the top music streamers, and it already features support from other consoles, including both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. Therefore, it was about time it reached Xbox One as well. The Xbox app should include basic options, as well as other special features already available on other device-based versions of the app.
These special features will allow you to stream music from remote devices. You can not only stream these songs, but you can pause them on those devices, and then play them back on Xbox. This might not be the highlight of the year for Spotify, but it’s still another victory for the music streaming platform.
The service has recently revealed it gathered over 60 million users for Spotify Premium. Also, it should soon become available to the wider public. This is scheduled to happen either at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2018.
