When it comes to devices that work with your smartphones and tablets, there are two types of products: the ones that improve the quality of your life and those that improve the quality of your smartphone, such as the Mophie Space Pack for your iPhone, which gives your iPhone 5/5S double the battery life and extended storage while also acting as a protective case. Today we’re going to present to you a product that will definitely help parents everywhere: the Pacifi Bluetooth Pacifier.
The Pacifi Bluetooth Pacifier
The Pacifi Bluetooth Pacifier is a pacifier that works as a smart thermometer. In fact, the company behind the product, UK-based Blue Maestro, calls it the first smart pacifier and indeed, this is what it is. Other pacifiers have included a thermometer, but the Pacifi Bluetooth Pacifier is the first one to include Bluetooth.
The pacifier takes your baby’s temperature, records it and then sends all the information it gathered to your smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth. You need to download an app, which is free, for your devices for it to be able to do that. The product will be available on the first half of 2014, it will cost around $33 and is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
Kristin Hancock, co-founder of Blue Maestro, said that she knew very well how difficult it is to take the temperature of a sick child. She believes that the Pacifi Bluetooth Pacifier will not only help the parents with taking their baby’s temperature easier, but it will prove a valuable tool in keeping track of the temperature information and medicine given to the child.
All the information sent to the smartphone or tablet can be shared with anyone interested in it, doctors, friends or family.
The Pacifi Bluetooth Pacifier is dishwasher-safe and very low-power, which is exactly what you would want a product that sits so close to an infant to be. If the pacifier gets lost, you can track it via the app, so no more misplacing pacifiers!
