Nokia announced in Barcelona, Spain the company’s new phone from the Asha mobile platform, which will also be their most affordable hands-on. Not exactly a smartphone, more as a step up from a feature phone, the new Nokia Asha 230 comes with the same features used on other Asha phones such as the Xpress Browser, Bing search, the two-screen layout with an app screen and their Fastlane display which shows the notifications on to the home screen of the device. It comes with a 2.8 inch QVGA (240×320 pixels) display and a device storage of 4GB but the card supports up to 32GB with the microSD card slot. Nokia announced that they will also include an extra SIM card slot which will be used for a dual-SIM device.
Other Nokia Asha 230 features revealed are the 1.3 megapixels camera and the preloaded apps such as the widely popular Facebook, Twitter, LINE, WhatsApp and their popular WeChat. Other notable improvements include smarter imaging, free streaming music with MixRadio and the new Asha Motion which you can use for creating personal wallpapers. It also comes with ten games that can be downloaded for free from their own Nokia Store. Another stand-out feature is the phone’s battery that can support a talk time of up to 12 hours or a stand-by time of up to 33 days.

The new Asha 230 looks different than other Nokia designs, with a squarer, wider hold and round corners, which makes it a cute bubbled phone. It comes in the trademark Nokia bright, vibrating colors like Bright Yellow, Bright Red, Bright Green, White, Cyan and Black.
But one the best Nokia Asha 230 features revealed would most certainly be the pricing, which at 45 EUR makes it the most affordable touch Asha phone. At this price, we say it’s a bargain.
