The Wall Street Journal presented the good news from Amazon that are to happen very soon, taking into consideration the need of its customers to put all their work into a high classed data base and organize better.
As a result, Amazon brings the WorkMail for Business Email and Calendar Services, a program that concentrates on security and accessibility for all kinds of users, from beginners to advanced ones. The fact is that Amazon believes that enterprise email applications are not at all cheap and present difficulties in usage, so people are not very happy to use them at all times. WorkMail is a hgh class product and competes against other programs from Microsoft and Google that are built for the same purposes.
Adam Selipsky, an Amazon Web Services official, told the Journal, believes that
“Customers are not happy with their current email solution. A lot of customers feel those solutions are expensive and complex.”
Peter De Santis, vice president AWS Database Services at Amazon, said in a statement that the program was born after a very large amount of clients have asked for a business email and calendaring service, which certainly would have suited them more than a one-service solution. In addition, they wanted the service to be offered by the same infrastructure platform which they know very well and they trust for so many years. As a result, the WorkMail was conceived in order to solve all these problems and requests, and also to sustain agility in the processes existent in the domain.
There are also benefits in that security is concerned. Amazon said that enterprises will be able to select from more variants of data centers, taking into consideration the geographic areas for storing their messages. The encryption keys will be entirely the propriety and the responsibility of the company.
Bob O’Donnell, analyst and founder of TECHnalysis Research, said Amazon is fighting for a trend that will soon become inevitable, and this specific one is called paying for privacy.
“People are starting to recognize that there’s a need to have some kind of private email that they have a high degree of confidence is secure.”
He also believes that the enterprise email and calendar service is just a part of a small plan that Amazon is currently creating step by step. The final part of the project would be simplifying the process of all users, protecting their transactions and their online presence on the site.
