BioWare’s Mass Effect: Andromeda Teaser
Bioware’s Mass Effect: Andromeda will be postponed until early 2017.
In a recent blog post announcement, BioWare’s General Manager, Aaryn Flynn, wrote they want to take the Mass Effect franchise one step further, so they decided to postpone it to ensure the quality of the game.
Teased first in 2014 at an E3 event with a video, the game finally received an official name and was set a release date for late 2016 at the 2015’s E3 event.
Rumors started from the EA CFO Blake Jorgensen’s financial presentation, appeared to suggest otherwise, that Andromeda would be released in 2017.
Yesterday’s announcement made that rumor a certainty: no Mass Effect Andromeda until 2017.
The hallmark of the Mass Effect franchise is the character relationship that builds around the companions players go on adventures with. Around this hallmark, the team is working on creating more freedom, new worlds, and new experiences.
Leaving the Milky Way and heading to Andromeda, this third-person shooter plans on delivering exciting new stories with surprising allies and enemies in the exploration of the unknown galaxy.
The technology and player freedom of the new Mass Effect Andromeda will be unprecedented, according to Bioware’s General Manager. Andromeda will be the first Mass Effect game built on a Frostbite engine and the first to play on today’s available consoles.
MassEffect: Andromeda’s technology promises visuals, gameplay and stories like it has never been seen or done in the Mass Effect franchise history.
So far, the game seems to be leading in the right direction, but it takes some time to create quality work, and it is BioWare’s commitment to deliver “what the game can and should be”.
All you sci-fi third-person shooter players out there loving Mass Effect games will not hold your virtual horses in vain. According to the E3 video teaser and what BioWare is promising, the game will be mind-blowing.
Massive ships, excellent combat, and a galaxy expedition to continue in your nighttime dreams are all in the mix.
Aaryn ends the blog post saying they can’t wait to show us how far they’ll take us, raising our disappointed heads after the 2017 postponement news.
What do you think about the delay? Was BioWare’s Mass Effect: Andromeda on your shopping list for this year’s winter holiday? If so, just move it a bit farther and show your Mass Effect love.
