iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors Discussed, iPhone 5S Launch after iOS 7 on 20 September?

July 26, 2013 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

There is a huge controversy now raging about the iPhone version Apple intends to launch in the next few months. While it’s the iPhone 5S that is almost a surety to be launched sometime in September, there are those who claim Apple might also be working towards a release of the iPhone 6 version as well. Many of the smartphone experts the world over have even come out with a tentative date for the release of the future iPhone versions. There are wild guesses doing the rounds about the new iPhone 6 release date.

iphone

For one, Stableytimes is citing the fire sale now underway at Wal Mart for the previous generation iPhone versions as an indication of the most talked about iPhone 6 to be released soon. The iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 can now be picked up from Wal Mart for as low as just $39 and $129. Many believe Wal Mart is up to clearing their existing inventory as they are expecting to get hold of the new iPhone sometime soon in the coming month and are therefore offering the old smartphones at such low prices.

Then there are those who claim the new iOS 7 operating system is almost ready for launch as has been stated by the developers testing it. Sources are also of the opinion that Apple has informed its retailers that they can expect the introduction of iPhone 6 in weeks followed by a market launch in a month. Some analysts are speculating the release date of iPhone 6 to be 27th September and have based their prediction on the fact that the iOS 6 was released exactly 100 days after it was announced in 2011. Therefore if Apple is to follow the same formula, then the iOS 7 can be expected to come out on 18th September. The iOS 7 happens to be the first major overhaul of the platform ever since its inception and there will be a hardware launch of equal importance to go with it, something that can’t be befitting to the iPhone 5S since it is a reworked version of the iPhone 5 device.

Then there are also those who believe Apple on the other hand is thinking of releasing iPhone 5S within two days of the release of iOS 7, that is on 20th September. To ensure there is less crowd frenzy at its stores, the iPhone 6 might be released on September 27th, just a week later. According to various other reports, iPhone 5S will be having a 4.3 inch screen whereas iPhone 6 will be having 4.7 or 5 inch screen to go with the current trend of launching smartphone having a bigger display. Then there is also the issue of Apple’s plans to include a fingerprint sensor in their future iPhone version and hence things could get delayed till December to ensure they have the technology in place before embarking on the launch of the device.

iPhone 6 Release Date 2013 – Coming in Fall on iOS 7

June 21, 2013 By Brandi McCants Leave a Comment

Now that the iOS 7 has been announced at the WWDC on June 10th, Apple is releasing the iPhone 6 alongside the iOS 7 this Fall. The release will most probably happen during the first half of October, in line with previous iOS and iPhone releases.

That kindles more excitement by removing obscurities surrounding the iPhone 6 release date. Analysts assure that the device will arrive by early November to make it to retail stores in time for the holiday season. The iPhone 5 arrived in late September last year.

A recent report from Reuters says that Apple could launch its iPhone in two sizes – 4.7-inch and 5.7-inch variants – to compete with the myriad of Android devices. While the large screen iPhone will contend with the Galaxy phablets, Apple is also releasing a cheaper iPhone to compete with the cheaper Android phones in the market. The budget model – priced $99 – will come in five or six colors, distinguishing itself from the high-end model that will come in the standard black-and-white.

Led by Jony Ive, Apple’s mobile OS team has worked hard to render a fundamental overhaul to the iOS 7, relative to its predecessors. The new design features a flatter Android-like look. The iOS 7 has new gesture control features, thinner fonts and new stock apps. Among the prominent advancements, the Control Center allows users to toggle to control Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and flashlight. The iTunes Radio and AirDrop are additional features.

The iPhone 6 will not only boast the overhauled features of the new iOS 7 but also incorporate other advancements, such as quad-core A7 processor, 13MP camera, fingerprint technology and Retina display with Sharp IGZO technology.

Apple’s next iPhone definitely has some pleasant surprises for its fans, in terms of features, size and looks. For now, its release is just waiting for the iOS 7 to get ready.

iPhone 6 Release Date along with iOS 7 on Labor Day by Apple?

June 18, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

The majestic iPhone 6 is likely to debut in the United States on the Labor Day, i.e. September 2nd, as deduced from latest logics. It appears that the iPhone 6 can make it to the market by the end of August provided Apple begins production right away to match the iOS 7 release date.

Test versions of the new iOS 7 indicate that it is far beyond the beta 1 level, so the platform will likely arrive in Fall. Assuming that Apple will take about three months to release its iOS 7, the iPhone 6 has enough time to debut by the end of August.

iphone-6

Apple’s press invites will come about a week before its launch event. The iPod touch will likely be one of the products launched alongside the iPhone 6. The event will also include additional details on the final version of the iOS 7. The products are likely to hit the market a few days later, after online preorders and release dates are set. Thereafter, the iOS 7 will be downloadable to current iPhones and iPads.

The iPhone 6 will feature an A7 quad core processor and iOS 7, the most significant iteration of Apple’s mobile operating system. The device is likely to come with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options. Wireless charging is an expected feature that could address the current iPhone-battery’s quick draining issue.

Based on iPhone 6 concepts, many are expecting to see a fingerprint sensor as an additional security feature. There have been talks regarding an Apple patent about acoustic input for some functions. In other words, users can provide sound input that will be conducted through the shell to the system.

For now, iPhone fans will just have to follow the developments of iOS 7 to deduce the release date of the iPhone 6.

iPhone 6 Release Date Concept – Curved Display Plus 3D Camera

May 29, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

With analysts forecasting a 2014 release date for the iPhone 6, tech geeks are letting their imaginations run riot in envisioning the features of the device.  The latest concept video from Ran Avni and Hassen visualizes an iPhone 6 with a curved display and a 3D camera.

iphone-6-3D-camera-concept

The concept is based on Apple’s patents pointing to experiments with curved displays and 3D cameras for dual image capturing. Reported prototypes of the iPhone 6 feature a 4.8-inch display, matching the display size of Samsung Galaxy S3. There are no specifications of a higher resolution or added rows of icons. The edge-to-edge display, featured in the video, renders a flat look, with the curved glass sitting atop.

Apple has a patent for multiple-camera technology based on 3D imaging hardware. Based on this, the concept incorporates dual cameras on the rear of the device. The rear is very much similar to the iPhone 5. However, the prospects of a 3D smartphone camera have yet to be analyzed though 3D movies have been widely received. Recalling HTC Evo 3D, the device was not that successful, and HTC did not release any 3D camera device again.

Comments on the concept video do not show much excitement. This is because the concept seems to have borrowed the features of other devices and is not really Apple-inspired. The “borrow” aspect is quite perceivable. For instance, at first glance, the video reminds viewers of HTC’s design aspects – the white borders along the large screen and metal design.

The iPhone 5S, expected in September this year, is most probably an intermediate upgrade rather than a major overhaul, leaving Apple fans to expect more futuristic designs from iPhone 6. Moreover, there is a lot of time for the launch, so it seems reasonable to expect more innovations.

iPhone 6 Release Date – Concept Video Leaks, Points Towards, Bigger 1080p Display, Waterproof Capabilities

May 23, 2013 By Brandi McCants Leave a Comment

A new video depicting iPhone 6 has emerged online, providing some new insight on the set of features that the new Apple smartphone could be seen coming with. While the device shouldn’t be expected before next year, it still is interesting to know what the future might shape up to be as far as the iPhone in its 6th iteration is concerned.

iPhone-6-Concept

To begin with, the device does look somewhat out of place with its design that is a deviation from the usual design theme that Apple has been following with its iPhone series so far. The video also reveals the device to be quite slimmer than its present iteration and possibly lighter too. The display is likely to be tweaked further to 1080p quality, something that is being referred to As Retina+ display. Apple’s Tim Cook though has refuted those claims but then, who knows, Apple might well pack a surprise here. Then there also are rumors of Apple might even contemplate a bigger 4.8 inch display for the iPhone 6.

While bigger and better display has been the norm that all smartphone makers have been conforming to off late, making them dust and waterproof too has emerged as a preferred feature that Apple might be seen implementing on iPhone 6. The current Sony flagsip, Xperia Z boast of water and dust proof capabilities while there is a Galaxy S4 variant in the making, the S4 Active that too will be equally rugged.

Release date of iPhone 6 is going to be next year but the video further reveals the iPhone 6 could be seen sorting LED notification lights, something that has been missing on the iPhone so far. Wireless charging is another feature that Apple could be seen adopting on the iPhone 6, or even the iPhone 5 as well. Other cool features the iPhone 6 could be seen sporting include front facing speakers a la HTC One, touch sensitive volume switch as well as a 13 megapixel rear facing camera.

iPhone 6 Release Date – Is it around the corner?

May 12, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Undoubtedly, the iPhone 6 is one of the much-anticipated smartphones in the market right now, with rumors taking wings right after the launch of iPhone 5. But, whether or not it will be the next iPhone is still a puzzle. From past experience, some analysts believe that the iPhone 5S will make this year, pushing the iPhone 6 launch to 2014.

Others believe that Apple will skip the iPhone 5S and release the iPhone 6 this year. A few expect both devices to hit the shelves simultaneously this year. Still others are expecting budget versions – iPhone Mini or iPhone Math – before iPhone 6, drawing on reports from DigiTimes.

iphone-6-concept

Let’s look at the expected specs of iPhone 6 for a moment. The device is expected to flaunt some new features – 4G-enabled, redesigned OS, better connectivity, fingerprint scanner, etc. Apple Insider reports that the sixth generation iPhone is likely to use sonar instead of infrared sensors. Macworld talks of a smart bezel to display info around the screen, by flashing buttons and symbols complementing the main screen action.

So, a primary display will provide visual content, while a secondary display will guide with inputs. MacRumours says that the iPhone 6 may feature a 4.8-inch Retina+ IGZO screen for a thinner, brighter and clearer display. The capacitive display made by Sharp is likely to have eight times the sensitivity of current screens. The processor is likely to be updated from A6 to A7.

Considering the expected specifications, some analysts say that the new OS architecture, advanced display technology, etc. are not likely to be ready until 2014. With speculations around, it is difficult to pin down a precise release date for the iPhone 6, but all guesswork points to a 2014 release with iPhone 5S debuting this year.

iPhone 6 Release Date pushed to 2014 by Apple?

May 3, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

2013 seems to be an Android-annum. But the same seems not to be so hopeful for Apple-freaks. Rumors suggest that the release date of iPhone 5S has been postponed, due to some fresh hardware updates that the tech-giant is going to initiate in its 5th generation device.

Apple-iPhone-6

Fans expected iPhone 6 to be released this year, but sadly, with the postponement of iPhone 5S’ launch, iPhone 6 is probable to hit the shelves only in 2014.

Sources reveal that iPhone 6 will possess a larger screen, though Tim Cook’s statement differs from what users have been expecting. Cook stated that Apple is more inclined towards the quality of display rather than its dimension. He further added that currently Apple features the best quality screen display, which obviously is true.

Peter Misek, Jeffries analyst brought out a note to investors mentioning that he thinks iPhone 6 will make its release in June 2014.

Rumors indicate that iPhone 6 will feature a 4.8 inches display screen, dimensionally similar to the Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z and HTC One. With this display size, Apple may shift to a complete High Definition (1920×1080 resolution) or may upgrade to a superior display resolution. Citigroup Capital Markets associate Glen Yeung recently stated that iPhone 6 may come up with a larger display, but Apple will not shed light on the device until the first half of 2014.

Sources blame the delay in production of A7 processor to be the cause of delay in iPhone 6’s launch. Samsung Electronics constructs Apple’s processor, but considering disputes between the two giants previous year, it seems that Apple will be seeking a new manufacturer for its processors. Eight Samsung smartphones were banned in several nations under legal allegations filed by Apple. So, none is sure about Apple’s decision on a new manufacturer.

Rumors are buzzing over iPhone 6’s specs, but the delay news is unfortunate. However, it is probable that Apple may focus on something really surprising for its fans in the meantime.

iPhone 6 Features Powerful A7 Processor: More Apple Control, Less Samsung

April 5, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

A new version of the iPhone is said to be released in 2014. The iPhone 6 is finally in its creation phase and Apple is said to add a totally powerful processor with the package. The iPhone 6 will have the same features with its predecessors; the only difference is in its speed and screen.

Several other features will be added with the phone along with new software programs which are strictly for this mobile device. There have been some speculations that several companies are planning to merge in order to fully create the new iPhone. Samsung is said to make the A series processors which will be connected to the iPhone.

iphone-5

Latest rumors also shared by an Apple insider mentioned that the move of the A7 processor is based on the designs coming from a Taiwan Semiconductor company and a Taiwanese group. This report pointed out the collaboration for the new processor will be effective. Apple will eventually be able to release the 20 nanometer Apple A7 based processor.

The processor is said to start production through TSMC by 2014. This will definitely challenge Intel to work for more than 10% of the chips while Samsung will be pushing over 50% production. The delay of the production is said to be due to the new designs and innovative changes for both the phone and its processor.

Since Samsung will be creating the flash memory and the RAM, little production will be done by Intel. The growth in Samsung shares will surely increase during the release of this new phone. The iPhone 6 will have several wireless features and it will definitely be the highlight of the year. Along with the collaboration with a Taiwanese group, Apple is said to be tapping the resources of Sanyo for the components. Yes, the components will be released by Sanyo and it will surely be an increase in the strength of the new processor.
