Blizzard Does Care About Its Community

Blizzard Does Care About Its Community

Apparently Blizzard does care about its community more than they show. The gaming giant is now in court once again to face bot makers and claim their right to offer a better experience. Bot makers for Heroes of the Storm, Diablo 3 and World of Warcraft are now facing charges. Blizzard filled the lawsuit and justice will be met. Blizzard is aware that people are ruining the experience for many of its players and it wants to put an end to it.

The so called “Buddies” will not have an easy time making bots anymore. “HonorBuddy”, “DemonBuddy” and “StormBuddy” are Blizzard’s targets right now. The company claims that these bots are ruining player experience   and that they must answer for the damage that they have done not only to Blizzard, but to its community as well since the released games would be nothing without the people enjoying them.

James Enright is named responsible for all the damage that has been done and he is deemed to have violated Blizzard user agreements numerous times. On top of that, Enright has made thousands of dollars, or perhaps millions, at the cost of Blizzard’s games and people’s enjoyment. These are all the accusations that were brought forward and the following months will tell how Enright will pay for his crimes.

The financial damage that Enright has caused is enormous. Not that Blizzard is a company that has money issues, but when you are a subscriber and you suddenly find out that people reach top level within a matter of days and farm gold beyond your wildest dreams while botting and you work your way up through hard work and honesty, well it’s pretty much understandable that you don’t want to be a subscriber anymore.

The same goes for Heroes of the Storm. You do not really want to keep playing to get to that Rank 1 if you are going to end up with a bot ignoring objectives in your team, right? It’s already bad enough that the matchmaker is flawed, let’s add some bots on top of that, shall we?

Back to the point, the company will probably regain some of its lost popularity if things go right. It looks like Blizzard does care about its community and despite making fixes that will make the games a lot better, they will also ensure that botting is not going to be a problem in the near future. If Blizzard’s allegations are deemed true, then the company will not only secure the non-distribution of botting programs, but they will also be making a ton of extra money apparently.
