Release News On Overwatch
Blizzard finally gave release news on Overwatch. As a game that has been long waited for, Overwatch was easily going to take the spotlight during BlizzCon 2015. Fans were not disappointed. With the addition of several new characters and the reveal of the release date along with a pre-purchase pack, Overwatch was easily one of the most acclaimed games this year.
What is very interesting is that Overwatch will not only be released on the PC, but on the Xbox and PlayStation 4 as well. This comes as a major surprise for a lot of players since Blizzard have been only interested in PC releases during its activity. It is also its first shooter, if we do not take Starcraft: Ghost into consideration since it was cancelled during its development.
At first glance, Overwatch is just another shooter. A group of people are teaming up to capture an objective and they have to shoot their way through the mayhem in order to get things done. But the thing about Overwatch is that it gives players something different that the majority of shooters nowadays don’t and we are going to be looking into these features just now.
First of all, we need to talk about the atmosphere. It seems trivial at first, we know, but the atmosphere is something that shooters have long forgotten to look into. CS:GO feels exactly like CS 1.6 felt in 2005, Call of Duty has maintained a sort of stale atmosphere in the past games as well.
The thing is that whatever you play these days, especially if you are not an actual hardcore FPS player, they all feel like Counter Strike. But not Overwatch. This game has a certain feeling that is just right: modern and oldschool environments, a young feeling and great optimization. When playing Overwatch you do not feel like in a terrorist game, you feel like you want to have fun.
The fun aspect is also pretty vast since you will be having 21 different heroes when the game will launch (alongside 5 unique skins) and you can have the same character in your team 6 times. Yes, everyone can play the same character if they want to. How cool is that? Or, in fact, how free is that? No other shooter does this and it is an important step to making players more familiar with shooters in the first place.
With Blizzard finally giving release news on Overwatch, you can expect the game to be out in summer 2016. And you can also pre-ppurchase them game now for some little extras that might intrigue you. So don’t wait for too long. If you are looking for a great shooter, you definitely have to check out Overwatch.
