Witness How The Witness Is Mind-Blowing

"Witness How The Witness Is Mind-Blowing "

The Witness will feature Myst-inspired puzzles.

Do you by chance remember the Myst series? They were indeed mind-benders and heart-breaker from all point of view. You can now put your nostalgia aside because another Myst-inspired will be launched in early January. Feast your eyes and witness how The Witness is mind-blowing.

For those of you who are not unaware or you’re new into gaming, Myst is adventure series, created by Cyan, Inc. Riven studios. When it comes to first-perspective adventure games, Myst is the one we should be looking for.

Over time, the game, inspired from Jules Verne’s novels, has won numerous awards and commendations for its revolutionary gameplay and mind-bending puzzles. According to the game developers, The Book of Ti’ana, Cyan’s crowning achievement and the last installment in the franchise is still under production.

As for our games, The Witness seems to showcase the same game mechanics as his proud predecessor: a beautifully-rendered environment which will probably be the scene of twisted plot and many mind-boggling puzzles.

We are unsure what to expect from the game itself because there are little clues to gameplay. All we can say for sure is that like his predecessor, the offspring of Braid will likely stress out the importance of exploring the environment. And of course, there will be the small matter of picking up seemingly unimportant items from several locations.

In the Myst series, each item found in the game would appear totally random, until you hit a puzzle which requires some ingenuity and a “random” item.

Although, the YouTube teaser trailer doesn’t tell us much about other aspects of the game such as gameplay or puzzles, the dev team was kind enough to post a list of system requirements.

Actually, there are two lists available, one featuring the minimum system requirements, while the other details the recommended specs.

According to the first build, you’ll need at 1.8 GHz on your processor, 4 GB RAM, Intel HD graphics Card with DirectX 9.0 and approximately 4GB of free space. As for the other build list, you’ll need at least 2.4 GHz on your processor, 8 GB of RAM, a GeForce 780 video card which is capable of supporting DirectX 10 and not to mention at least 4 GB of free space.

We cannot say for certain, but based on the system requirerements it would seem that the game does have a point to prove.

According to Jonathan Blow, the creator of Brain, the game is set to launch in early January.
