Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s Final DLC for Xbox

By Leave a Comment

call-of-duty-advanced-warfare-walkthrough On August 4th, Call of Duty’s final downloadable content from Activision is due to be released for Xbox, with other platforms following short after.

The PS3, PS4 and PC versions should be expected by early September.

Advanced Warfare will contain a final map pack, which would make everything even more intriguing for gaming connoisseurs.

At a full capacity of entertaining, astonishing gameplay, 4 new maps will be introduced: Fracture, Overload, Quarantine and Swarm. A final episode of Advanced Warfare’s Zombie saga will be introduced as a bonus. The brand new Trident Reflected Energy Weapon will be delivered to gamers, whereas it is sure to cause significant damage to opponents.

About each map’s structure, firstly, let’s start with Fracture. The action’s set in an arctic excavation site, where you have to discover hidden secrets in the ice. The large combat areas will take place on the edge of a glacier, but you will be able to take cover behind wind turbines and heavy equipment. Nevertheless, you have to stay alert, as pieces of the glaciers will be pulled off into the depths, so be aware of a gruesome death.

Secondly, Overload will transport you to exotic New Baghdad, where you will enjoy intriguingly unusual, different sights concealing fountains, gardens, plasma lamps etc. The décor should be truly amazing. This particular map will be structured on different levels, you will be able to toggle between medium or long-range combat and, last but not least, firing a shot at the lamps will just as well propel enemies into a devastating, violent explosion.

Thirdly, Quarantine’s walking into the footsteps of a Resident Evil-like Universe, a Universe resulted from a deadly viral outbreak, the island’s refugees being victims of a biological testing center.  The map will be enhanced with a special kind of shooting/striking ability, by launching missile strikes. This certain map will be adaptable to any gameplay style whatsoever.

Last but not least, Swarm, explores exotic Seoul, South Korea, where reconstruction is underway. This map will be conveyed with narrow corridors and pathways, filled with equipment, ammo and vehicles. You will be able to seek shelter in the streets, behind the storefronts, or attack the enemy in the center of the map, through close-quarter interiors.

Sledgehammer co-founder Glen Schofield told the press that the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’s universe and development was an “amazing journey”.

He said that the Activision team looks forward to continuing to please their amazing fans, whereas the completion of their 4th downloadable content add-on pack, Reckoning, has been a truly outstanding experience.

Can Call of Duty Bring Anything New?

By Leave a Comment

An eleven year old franchise isn’t probably up to anything new, you would be inclined to say, since 10 games must have surely exhausted all novelty out of the game. However, Call of Duty is out today and the question is whether developers went with satisfying longtime fans or with providing the ultimate change.

Market analysts haven’t predicted any positive news for the franchise that has sold more than 175 games worldwide. The $1 billion series is expected to have a drop-off of 40 percent in sales after last year’s release of “Call of Duty: Ghosts.”

Such drops in sales can only be attributed to the sense of familiarity that shooters have these days. Regardless of how many efforts developers put into flourishing the setting, everything seems the same, as if it were dug out of the recycle bin. So can Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare be any different?call-of-duty-advanced-warfare

For one, it provides an unfamiliar setting, the franchise claims, as the action is set in the year 2054. Players battle against new technology while in a futuristic setting that looks nothing like what other games have brought to the table. Swarms of flying robots much like Matrix’s sentinels cover the sky, as one of the many surprises in the realistic war simulation game.

Another feature is the “exoskeleton” which soldiers can now equip. With such technology on, soldiers can use heavy weaponry as well as accomplish superhuman feats. Consequently, the multiplayer experience is expected to be revived, developers say, especially since players will now be able to fly around or leap as opposed to being tied to the ground.

And did we mention Kevin Spacey? Well, indeed, Kevin Spacey is featured in “Advanced Warfare” as the evil private military contractor currently holding a United Nations Security Council seat. So gamers can surely expect major advances where in-game storytelling is concerned.

“If this is the direction they’re going, they’re going to be making movies,”

Spacey said when asked about the game.

The game also comes with a revamped weapons system, which will, as the franchise says, bring a nuance to the game’s weapons. They will be customizable, as users will be able to add unique attributes to each weapon, such as faster fire rate.

Level design has also changed to make stages more dynamic and allow users to progress through the game’s environments in different ways.

There are, however, already critique points, especially where the soldier’s funeral scene is concerned. COD features an in-game sequence of a funeral where users may choose to pay their respects or not.

“Press X to remember that a good friend of mine committed suicide in Iraq when plagued with depression. Ha ha Call of Duty, you nailed it. :|”

a veteran posted on his Twitter account in response.

Call of Duty: Ghosts hits $1 billion in day one sales

By 4 Comments

call-of-duty-ghosts

Rockstar Games exceeded all expectations when they launched Grand Theft Auto V and had already made $800 million in revenue from the game after three days, Activision has now trumped this number, announcing $1 billion in sales on the first day.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the newest in the CoD franchise, one of the biggest gaming series in the world. Activision and Infinity Ward have talked in detail about new features added to the video game, but early reviews and first impressions hit the game for weak graphics and no ambition.

That has not stopped millions of fans grabbing the game on day one. Activision have pushed the game out to as many platforms as possible, although the dominate one will probably be Xbox 360, the hub for all Call of Duty games this past decade.

Other platforms Call of Duty: Ghosts will be on include the PS3, Wii U, PC and will be coming to the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Activision has added some new multiplayer game modes but already people are stopping similarities and reworks of all games, pointing at Infinity Ward not trying their hardest for the next generation platform.

With the end of the seventh console era about to come to the a close, more and more games are hitting peak audiences. The Xbox 360 and PS3 each share around 80 million users and Microsoft reported around half of those 80 million are Xbox Live Gold Members.

This means game developers have a unique opportunity to reach an unparalleled size audience. The next generation consoles may take a few years to become the first party platform for many game titles, with the developers instead finding more success and revenue on the older generation.

Activision will be a big part of the next generation, their game in collaboration with Bungie is set to shake the console world. Destiny is a huge open world futuristic RPG and there are plenty of other open world games taking advantage of the new consoles power, including Tom Clancy: The Division, Elder Scrolls Online and Dead Rising 3.

A fresh Zombies mode which is rumoured to be a follow-up version of the original Black Ops’ Call of the Dead Zombie DLC will also be available and they labeled it as “Mob of the Dead”.

At this point, these are included in the rumored section so we’ll have to wait if all of these are true.
