A BioShock remaster has been on the holiday wishlist of many gamers for years.
On August 21st, 2007 BioShock was released. Jack and Andrew Ryan told a story and took the world for a ride through Rapture. They met Big Daddies, Little Sisters and so much more.
As the spiritual successor of the original System Shock series, BioShock would be an instant hit and a classic.
Apart from its two sequels, BioShock has given way to several pop culture references. The graphics, sound, setting, story, plot and gameplay are all top notch
Ken Levine and his team, also known as Irrational Games, announced BioShock: The Collection. The announcement was made today, after an unfortunate photo leak yesterday getting to social media before the official trailer could be revealed.
The Collection is going to be a beautiful anthology of remastered titles. It will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the PC.
The remastering will add, tweak, and patch a few things all along the three titles. Most importantly and impressively, Collection will be presenting the same well known and loved stories in a new more visually appropriate package. Collection will run at 1080p and 60 frames per second.
The Collection will contain a remastered version of BioShock, along with an all-new Director’s Commentary from Ken Levine and Shawn Robertson. The Commentary will be called Imagining BioShock.
The first title of the series will also have a Museum of Orphaned Concepts, which will allow players to walk through a virtual interactive museum-like exhibition.
Lastly, the original BioShock remastered will be brining new challenges and achievements.
BioShock 2 will also be fully remastered, along with the Minerva’s Den DLC
BioShock: Infinite will only be remastered for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Irrational Games considers Infinite not to need a remaster on the PC. Infinite will also be packaged with all its DLCs as well.
Collection will launch on Tuesday, September 13th on both consoles and the PC. It will be available for $59.99 or, for those not living in the United States, the appropriate regional equivalent.
There is current speculation that people who already own the games will receive their remastered versions for free.
