Very important holiday shopping season is here, which already starts with early sales on Black Friday; the video game industry also gains some streams.
Thanks to the new arrival of the first major game system in the home in six years – Wii U by Nintendo. New blockbuster entries – Call of Duty and Halo. Shoppers did descend on some stores in the country which began selling WIi at midnight, at $300 and $350.
However, they are not expected to be displayed by Sunday since sellers have already sold their shares several months ago.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2
Also selling great is “Call of Duty: Black Ops 2”, which topped the sales charts with more than $50 million globally in its debut on November 13. This is the fourth year of Call of Duty to set new and high heights said its publisher Activision. This game is very much well known that its “sickness”, Call of Duty contagion caused many workers to be absent from work on the day after its release.
Best Buy’s Vice President Chris Koller said that he has a few people on his staff who are passionate about the game.
Halo 4
Released on Nov. 6, “Halo 4” also had its massive launch, posting $220 million on the first day of its global sales alone. Halo 4 is only for Microsoft’s Xbox 3650 video game system while Call of Duty: Black Ops2 can be played on many game platforms, includes Windows PCs , Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Despite being available for just sole platform, Halo franchise pulled about $3.4 billion.
