Fallout DLC Only Two Weeks Away!

July 13, 2016 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Vault-Tec Workshop is the new Fallout DLC

Just when we though we were out of the Wasteland, the Fallout DLC pulls us back in.

Vault-Tec Workshop is going to be the new Fallout DLC. It will be released on Tuesday, July 26th, and it features a lot of awesome and fun new ways to spend time after the apocalypse. Bethesda live-streamed the announcement along with a brief presentation of what the new expansion will be all about.

The Fallout DLC and Vault 88

The expansion will start out with the protagonist receiving a radio signal. Following the signal will lead to the new area in the game, Vault 88. The vault, which coincidentally may or may not be the number chosen for a certain Shelter on a certain tablet, is going to initially be an abandoned location. An automated Overseer will be in charge of Vault 88, and she will ask you for help in regards to the completion of several experiments. GLaDOS, is that you?

While Bethesda has not said anything more than that about the actual questline, players expect it to be brief.

After finishing the miscellaneous length questline, Vault 88 will be the new playground where players will be able to try out making all sorts of neat stuff for their dwellings. While Vault 88 will be the main playground, players will be able to put their creations inside their Vault.

Other Nifty Features

The Fallout DLC is more than Vault 88, however. The Vault Population Management System is going to be new console. The system is pretty awesome, as it allows tracking companions and settlement inhabitants. The Vault Population Management System will also aid players in controlling the actions of inhabitants.

Vault-Tec Workshop is also bringing Vault construction pieces which will be easy to place and connect. Some of the rooms include Overseer offices, nurseries, generator rooms, and atriums. Rooms will be able to connect to a second floor through overhead walkways. Vault construction will, however, be limited and players will not be able to set up Vaults anywhere they choose.

Clean furniture will also be arriving to the Wasteland with the Fallout DLC. Players will be able to furnish their Vault with brand new comfortable looking beds, snazzy dressers, and a lot more. Bethesda also revealed some neat posters and signs.

Finally, the Fallout DLC improved the way players can see what expansion brought what items. The Vault Workshop has a gear icon, the Wasteland Workshop has a Deathclaw head icon, the Far Harbor has a boat icon, and the Contraptions Workshop has a factory building icon. Happy building!

Pac-Man Turns 35. A Few Facts About The Famous Game

May 23, 2015 By Lori David Leave a Comment

1

It happened on May 22, 1980, when the video game legend Pac-Man made its debut in Japanese arcades.

Friday was the 35th anniversary of the coming of Pac-Man, one of the most recognizable franchise and character the video game industry has ever seen. Even if Pac-Man was not the first video game created, this yellow character is responsible for the industry’s growing popularity in its arcades period back in the ’80s.

To mark Pac-Man’s birthday, here are a few interesting facts about the video game icon:

Pac-Man was inspired by pizza. A fact that you might not know about is that its creator Toru Iwatani got the idea of how the star of his game must look. In an interview with Time Magazine some weeks ago, Iwatani remembered taking a slice of pizza and seeing how the remaining ones looked like a character. “That’s how Pac-Man’s iconic shape was created,” he told the magazine.

Pac-Man was designed to attract female players. Just before Pac-Man’s arrival, the biggest stars of video game were aliens, with legendary games including Space Invaders. To stand out from the crowd, Iwatani explained he created Pac-Man to be more appealing for women.

“It seemed very dark. It was for men, it wasn’t fashionable at all. When women would go out, they’d go out in a group of friends or with a boyfriend as a couple. And I realized that if women and couples were going to come to game centers, they had to be cheerful places,” Iwatani mentioned about arcades at the time in an interview with Wired just before the game’s 30th anniversary.

He was at first named Puck-Man. Japanese versions of the video game had this earlier name, but as Iwatani explained, it was changed to Pac-Man mostly for its U.S. release in order to avoid vandals from changing the “P” to an “F”.

Pac-Man is the most successful coin-operated arcade ever to be built. According to Guinness World Records, there were more than 293,000 Pac-Man machines built and used worldwide between 1981 and 1987. Since its debut, the game has been played an approximately 10 billion times.

According to the official Pac-Man website, there is a maximum high score of 3,333,360. There was even a song created to honor Pac-Man.Songwriters Buckner & Garcia released the tune Pac-Man Fever in 1982, at the height of the game’s popularity.

Can Call of Duty Bring Anything New?

November 3, 2014 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

An eleven year old franchise isn’t probably up to anything new, you would be inclined to say, since 10 games must have surely exhausted all novelty out of the game. However, Call of Duty is out today and the question is whether developers went with satisfying longtime fans or with providing the ultimate change.

Market analysts haven’t predicted any positive news for the franchise that has sold more than 175 games worldwide. The $1 billion series is expected to have a drop-off of 40 percent in sales after last year’s release of “Call of Duty: Ghosts.”

Such drops in sales can only be attributed to the sense of familiarity that shooters have these days. Regardless of how many efforts developers put into flourishing the setting, everything seems the same, as if it were dug out of the recycle bin. So can Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare be any different?call-of-duty-advanced-warfare

For one, it provides an unfamiliar setting, the franchise claims, as the action is set in the year 2054. Players battle against new technology while in a futuristic setting that looks nothing like what other games have brought to the table. Swarms of flying robots much like Matrix’s sentinels cover the sky, as one of the many surprises in the realistic war simulation game.

Another feature is the “exoskeleton” which soldiers can now equip. With such technology on, soldiers can use heavy weaponry as well as accomplish superhuman feats. Consequently, the multiplayer experience is expected to be revived, developers say, especially since players will now be able to fly around or leap as opposed to being tied to the ground.

And did we mention Kevin Spacey? Well, indeed, Kevin Spacey is featured in “Advanced Warfare” as the evil private military contractor currently holding a United Nations Security Council seat. So gamers can surely expect major advances where in-game storytelling is concerned.

“If this is the direction they’re going, they’re going to be making movies,”

Spacey said when asked about the game.

The game also comes with a revamped weapons system, which will, as the franchise says, bring a nuance to the game’s weapons. They will be customizable, as users will be able to add unique attributes to each weapon, such as faster fire rate.

Level design has also changed to make stages more dynamic and allow users to progress through the game’s environments in different ways.

There are, however, already critique points, especially where the soldier’s funeral scene is concerned. COD features an in-game sequence of a funeral where users may choose to pay their respects or not.

“Press X to remember that a good friend of mine committed suicide in Iraq when plagued with depression. Ha ha Call of Duty, you nailed it. :|”

a veteran posted on his Twitter account in response.
