
GoPro wants to release Karma a drone that is able to record high quality videos.
Everybody must have heard of this flying contraptions. Initially used by the US military in order to scout locations and paint targets, in the last couple of years drones have begun to sprout wings even outside the military. Now, every tech company plans on developing its own flying drone, that is capable of delivering all the goodies but at an affordable price. GoPro goes pro with GoPro Karma, the new concept in flying thingamabobs that can do amazing pictures while in mid-air.
Yes, is the answer to your question. GoPro does ring a bell. They are the one’s responsible for releasing great imaging products. But now, GoPro wants to aim even higher, when they made the decision of incorporating their imaging technology into the new flying gizmos.
According to some reports out there, the rumors of GoPro tackling flying drone is not something entirely new. In fact, it would seem that the tech giant was testing its first drone in early October. GoPro announced that they indeed on the verge of designing a new type of product, one that does now sacrifice quality for altitude or vice-versa.
The tech giant announced on its official website that the drone will be launched on the market in 2016. Meanwhile, in order to dazzle us with its outstanding performances, GoPro shared on all social medias a clip which shows how well their drone can functions. When going on YouTube to check out the video, you will see, much to your astonishment that the clip was filmed in 1440p. Its designers said that the drone will be capable of recording movies at 2.5K quality.
Before getting into more details, we should say a few words about GoPro’s take on the flying drone market. According to official sources, a few months ago, GoPro wanted to sign an agreement with DJI, the manufacturer of the first flying drone powered by a UBUNTU computer. When the agreement fell, GoPro decided to take matters into their own hands and design a drone that will take everyone’s breath away.
It would seem that the results speak from themselves. The YouTube clip entertains us with seamless pictures and video taken by the drone on its first flight. According to the drone’s makers, the images seen on YouTube are unaltered and unedited. You should expect some shaking from a drone that makes quite a few loops in the air. But it would seem that this isn’t the case for Karma because the flying drone is outfitted with powerful image stabilizers that are capable of perfect focusing.
In terms of price or availability, no one can say for sure. However, it would seem that the product itself might cost somewhere between 500 and 1000 dollars or even more, depending on what goodies it packs.
