Apple iOS 7 Release Date – Check Out the Features

June 2, 2013 By Brandi McCants 1 Comment

Apple’s upcoming iOS 7 is the talk of the tech town right now, with reports coming in pointing towards Apple providing with an in-depth view of what the latest iteration of its mobile operating system will be like during the WWDC event itself. However, a full scale release could happen only around September and October which is when Apple has usually been releasing its previous versions as well. The last version, iOS 6 has largely been a hit except for the Apple Maps fiasco that had led to the company’s map feature to be the butt of many a joke worldwide. With that firmly behind us, here is what we expect the iOS 7 to be like.

iOS7

Design wise, the new iOS 7 is expected to give up on its fake textures and effects as it adopts a more simplistic and clean design. The base aps such a Calendar, Safari, Game Center and so on are expected to be trimmed down quite a bit from what they are at present. There will be a bit of surprise for iPhone users as well as iOS 7 is expected to replace the vibrant look and feel of the device with something that is ‘more minimalist and monochromatic’ in its feel. The lock screen too has gone for a redesign so that the glossy image and the clock will give way to a simple black screen. Seems like even the security code pad too wasn’t pared from the redesign efforts so that it now sports round black keys and white texts.

These apart, the other features that we hope will be included in iOS 7 find mention below.

Swype keyboard, which is already a hit on Android devices and rightfully so since it not only makes for easy typing using the on-screen keyboard, but it actually is a fun way to type as well. Maybe it’s time Apple has something of the sort for iPhone or iPad users as well.

Apple’s mobile devices now comes with the Passbook feature though something of the sort of Mobile Wallet and NFC will perhaps add to its appeal even more.

Apple is also reported to have loosened up a bit on third part customizations, which will make it easy for developers to add more features and widgets to iOS 7.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait too long to come to the bottom of it all as the WWDC event kicks off on June 10 itself.

iOS 7 New Concept Video Released – Will These Features Make It To The Real OS?

May 14, 2013 By Daniel Giordano Leave a Comment

There is a new concept that has been released for iOS 7 which has managed to bring to life Jony Ive’s vision of an iOS that is flatter. This concept is one of the most realistic looks anyone has been able to create since of this vision which will most probably be showcased in June 2013.

ios 7 concept

iOS is a special software which is used in the iPad, iPhone and iPod. It was introduced in 2007 with the iPhone.

This new vision for iOS 7 will lack gloss and other real-world designs which users are used to as of now. Reports say that Apple has been working very hard on preparing the iOS 7 for unveiling on June 10th. This look is rumored to give Apple devices and apps a whole new look.

There was a video released by SimplyZesty of what the iOS 7 was going to be like. It showed a flatter lock screen which flip flops. The time and date was at the bottom and the slider was on the top. There is even a pull up feature which gives us access to Siri, the camera and even maps. Whether customizable shortcuts will make it or not is still unclear though.

Many Apple users have been crying for widgets for a long time now. iOS 7 seems to have answered their prayers. There could be new widgets as well as new controls for the notification center.

There is a music widget which gives users access to album art as well as music controls. There are even widgets for weather and the calendar. There are even toggles for brightness, Bluetooth, WiFi and airplane mode. There is so much similarity it almost looks like an Android interface.

With less than a month to go, users don’t have to wait much longer to find out what this OS will be like.
