Mercedes Announces New Mercedes – Maybach S600 Limousine

November 12, 2014 By Mary Duncan Leave a Comment

new mercedes maybach s600 limousine

The world received the recent Maybach resurrection news either by applauding the initiative, or by raising its eyebrows: why would a company bring  a brand back from the ashes when it was killed not so long ago? The answer is that the current Mercedes luxury models are not luxurious enough and the German company wants to compete with the most high – end players in this industry: Bentley and Rolls Royce. So the world will meet the new Mercedes – Maybach S600 limousine next week.

For those puzzled about the rebirth of a brand which crumbled under the weight of its own luxury, Maybach will not be resurrected as a separate brand, as it was before, but as a new line of ultra – exclusive limousines. It is going to be a nameplate to honor the future luxury models Mercedes wants to release into the world of the riches. The first to lead the charge? The new Mercedes – Maybach S600 limousine.

Currently, the most luxurious and high – end Mercedes you want to drive is the Mercedes-Benz S550, a monument dedicated to comfort, luxury and high – end technology. The new Mercedes – Maybach S600 limousine is going to borrow the main tech and comfort features of the Mercedes S – Class sedan and gain even more luxury points.

Some of the features include extra spaciousness, seats the size of a couch, prestigious finishing, the finest materials known to man and the latest auto – technology one can imagine. Specialists warn us to expect a much longer wheelbase and a V12 exclusive engine and four rear seats that can face each – other for business meetings purposes. Some reports also said something about an optional armored plating that protects the car form gun fire and low level explosions.

The new Mercedes – Maybach S600 limousine will make its entrance in history as a bespoke high end sub-brand of Mercedes cars, just like the powerful aggressive sports cars signed by Mercedes will be known in the future as belonging to Mercedes – AMG. This renaming strategy comes at the right time, as people started to get really confused by the manner Mercedes allocates names and numbers to their models.

Back to the new Maybach – Mercedes S600 limousine: it will be showed next week during the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. It will also be showed in China, in Guangzhou. Most likely, these are going to be the main markets for this ultra – vamped, high – end and hi – tech S – Class sedan.

If you started wondering about the price, some reports say that the new Mercedes – Maybach S600 limousine will cost somewhere around $1 million. Everything will get clearer in 2015, when the company plans to release the limousine for sale.

Mercedes-Benz is Renaming Models and Resurrecting Maybach

November 11, 2014 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Mercedes-Benz is renaming models

Mercedes-Benz announced today its plans to rename most of its models, so that the new system brings simplicity, transparency and clarity to the models’ names. Mercedes-Benz is renaming models, but it has also done something many thought was impossible: it has resurrected its luxury car, the Maybach.

Mercedes-Benz is renaming models, but how are they going to do it? The official press release reveals that with passenger cars, not a lot of changes are going to occur. With passenger cars, the core designations still remain the same: the A, B, C, E and S. These letter are typically followed by a number that tells the users and buyers about the size of the engine.

But now, Mercedes-Benz factories are growing in size and variety and the need for better model branding has arose. It appears that all the Mercedes-Benz models will gain a brand-new lower-case letter.

All Diesel powered cars will lose the label Bluetec and instead will be gaining a simple d. All hybrid cars, either gasoline-electric or diesel-electric, will gain an h and all electric cars, such as the brand-new B-Class Electric Drive, will get an e. Future fuel cell cars will be marked with an f, Mercedes-Benz has revealed, while simple gasoline engines will remain unmarked.

Mercedes-Benz is renaming models and it’s also doing it by changing the name of their SUVs. The G wagon will keep its G and aside from the Mercedes-Benz GLA, which keeps its name, the GL becomes GLS, the GLK becomes the GLC and the ML becomes the GLE. Mercedes-Benz explained that the L loses its former meaning of light and becomes a linking letter.

Mercedes-Benz has revealed that it will be updating all of its SUV line-up with the new name changes starting with 2015.

Along with the changing of the models’ letters, Mercedes-Benz has also announced that it is bringing back its super-premium label, the Maybach. Mercedes-Benz has also released a teaser photo of the brand’s new Maybach S600. More details about Maybach’s return haven’t been released and it is expected that we will learn more in the coming weeks.
