The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a non-profit organization that has its headquarters in New York City and was founded in 1946. This is the largest organization that deals with multiple sclerosis in the world. The research done by the organization involves the discovery of treatments for multiple sclerosis through clinical trials, therapies and testing. In 2012, $44 million were invested in 350 projects by the society. The multiple sclerosis appears when the nerve cells situated in the brain and in the spinal cord get damaged.
More women suffer from multiple sclerosis than men and the disease can affect people of any age. Usually, the symptoms appear around 30 years old and 35 years old.
Jay Leno stated that the future owner of the car not only will get an amazing and unique truck, but will also support a very important cause. Leno has always been known for owning a lot of cars, and most of them pretty unique. He actually received this pickup truck from Ford in 2000. The truck will be auctioned on January 29, at the Barret Jackson event that is going to take place in Scottsdale, Arizona. Last year, at an auction held in Scottsdale, Leno donated his Dodge Challenger SRT8. The car was sold for $360,000.
As the unique Harley-Davidson F-150 will be auctioned for charity by Leno, the people suffering from multiple sclerosis nationwide will be helped.
