Back in September we reported on how Amazon released 4 new Kindle Fire HD tablets and now we’re excited to tell you that Amazon has released a new Kindle: the new Amazon Kindle Voyage! In today’s article we’re going to give you a short Amazon Kindle Voyage presentation .
Amazon Kindle Voyage
The new Amazon Kindle Voyage is Amazon’s latest and best e-reader. It starts at $199 in the US for the Wi-Fi version and the 3G version is available for $269. You can preorder it now and it will ship starting with November 23.
The Amazon Kindle Voyager isn’t much better than the Kindle Paperwhite which costs $119, but it is better. It measures 7.6mm in thickness and it weighs around 181 grams. It has got a higher-resolution screen than the Paperwhite and a much better contrast, also.
The Amazon Kindle Voyager is the first Amazon Kindle e-reader that has a flush glass front and a magnesium back. These two new features gives it a premium appearance, along with the new 6-inch Carta E Ink HD touchscreen display that has a pixel density of 300 ppi.
A great feature added is a light sensor that will automatically adjust the brightness of your display. There’s a nightlight feature that gradually reduces the brightness so that your eyes can adjust to the darkness.
The Amazon Kindle Voyage is powered by a 1GHz processor, has 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage that is not upgradeable. We should mention that there is not AC adapter included with the purchase of the Amazon Kindle Voyage, just an USB cable.
One thing that the Paperwhite has on Voyage is better battery life. The Amazon Kindle Voyage has a battery life of 6 weeks (half an hour of reading every day) and the Paperwhite, a battery life of 8 weeks.
It’s clear from a simple glance over the tech specs that the Amazon Kindle Voyage is a great e-reader, the best from Amazon and possibly the best e-reader ever. If you want to upgrade, you won’t be sorry, even though the price is a little bit steep.
