HTC One is a funky phone, but the new HTC One M8 will tickle your fancy like no other HTC smartphone. This new model is HTC’s flagship phone and a gorgeous successor to last year’s HTC One, which was HTC’s best-selling phone in history. The new Android phone is impressive, so we thought we would write a short review to give you an idea of what to expect from HTC’s best.
Review of the New HTC One M8
The new HTC One M8 is a powerful Android phone, running Android 4.4 KitKat. It has a superb quad core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2.3 GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. And if you feel like that’s not enough for you, it has a microSD slot where you can stick up to 128GB of storage.
You’ve got Bluetooth 3.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi (which, to be honest is quite rare for a smartphone) and plenty of sensors which include a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, an ambient light and gyro and also a barometer, which we think is pretty cool.
The battery’s great too – 2600 mAh that will hold you up to 20 hours of 3G talk or 496 hours of standby. The new HTC One M8 has an Extreme Power Saving Mode which will give you up to two weeks of standby operations by limiting it to only the basics, such as calls, texts and email.
The wonderful 5-inch display has a 1080 ppi screen and the primary camera (rear) has 2.0 um pixels and a great 1/3-inch sensor with a 28mm lens. Just like Apple, HTC doesn’t want to play the pixel game and instead of packing many pixels into their phones, they focus on the size of the pixels and the quality of the pictures taken. Which, we think, is a very smart move. The rear camera also has a Duo Camera structure, with a dual flash and 1080p Full HD video recording. We have to say that we’ve tried the camera and it is absolutely stunning.
If you want a quick smartphone that captures great photos, then you should give the new HTC One M8 a chance. We think you won’t be disappointed.
