Turn Your Normal TV Into a Smart TV

January 10, 2015 By Mary Duncan Leave a Comment

Turn Your Normal TV Into a Smart TV

Let’s say that you don’t have the proper space to use a full-utility computer at your office or at home. Tiny places, big desks, children running, wife’s make-up table, one dormitory home. But for Intel, this is not a problem. Turn your normal TV into a smart TV with Intel’s Compute Stick. It basically transforms any monitor into a live computer, turning your normal TV into a smart TV. It’s perfect for homes, offices, manufacturing lines, and even every kind of business environment. It’s saving not only space, but also cost, and creating multifunctional apparatus out of simple, unilateral ones.

Of course, we’re not talking about any kind of Windows, but the latest one: Windows 8.1. It’s a full desktop computer experience, totally mobile and works with HDMI screens. Its quad-core lets you work with multiple sheets and tabs at once gracefully. The processor is Intel, 1.3 GHz; the 2GB of RAM, DDR3L, makes it fast and flowy, and the 32 GB of solid stare storage makes you get creative. The expandable memory allows you to insert a micro SD card anytime. Quite impressive for a 110.9mm x 38mm x  9.8mm device, isn’t it ?

Furthermore, it has the easily recognizable USB port, plus another one attacked to it, and also Wi-Fi and Bluetooth (Bluetooth 4.0 HS uART ), so social networking and internet browsing should not be a problem. The power adapter is of 10W(5V/2A), and it has a 30mm x 6.5mm x 2 mm, U shape dipole antenna.

The price ranges from $159 to $200, but you can also find the Linux version for only about $90.

Brian Krzanich is the CEO of Intel since May 2013 and has made quite a list of changes and brought new ideas to the company into diverse fields, different from the ones explored before.

Presented at the CES 2015, it’s a very good alternative to all desktop computers, grand, heavy laptops with cables and different attachments. Schools are also a good place where this kind of gadget would be very much of use, because of the storing space and the possibility of it moving from one monitor to another, if needed. Too bad though, it’s not very helpful for gaming and other equilibristic activities that you can do on a normal desktop of any kind. The market of gadgets is generous enough for any needs that anyone could develop from the electronic and IT passions.
