New Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A Revealed Today

December 29, 2014 By Mary Duncan Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A
The rumors were right. Samsung revealed today the latest, updated version of the previous Galaxy Note 4, released three months ago. The new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A comes as a nice surprise, promising a 4G connectivity which can reach speeds of up to 450 Mbps. The new Galaxy Note runs on a Snapdragon 810, which is the first premium 64-bit chipset of QCOM 0.36%.

The CEO of Samsung and President of IT $ Mobile Communications Division, JK Shin said the company continues to push the boundaries and set new challenges when it comes to mobile technology. Shin said of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A that his company is looking to deliver the best user experience.

Some believe the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A is ahead of its time. That’s because the handset can reach speeds of 450Mbps, thanks to a 4G technology. The new Samsung smartphone is Category 6 compliant, making it fast enough to download a video of 700 MB in approximately 19 seconds.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A is not only the fastest smartphone available on the market at the moment, it’s also supposed to be the most powerful, according to its specifications.
The new Galaxy Note runs on the latest Snapdragon 810 chipset, bringing a 64-bit compliance and allows more RAM for a bigger memory bandwidth and for compatible apps. The new Snapdragon 810 allows Samsung devices and other Android phones to be compatible with the 64-bit, something Apple has done since their iPhone 5S.

The Snapdragon 810 not only sports a memory boost and an LTE technology, it also features a quad-core ARM Cortex A57 CPU and a quad-core A53 CPU. The chipset can be switched between the two, the former can be used for heavy use, while the latter can be used for lower power and more idle time, prolonging and improving the battery life. This new battery system is called “bigLittle technology”.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 LTE A also comes with an upgraded version of Adreno 430 GPU, which supposedly is faster than the previous Adreno 420 that was in the Snapdragon 805.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Could be Last to Get Android 4.2.2 Update

July 16, 2013 By Brandi McCants 1 Comment

Leaks are a plenty about Samsung working on updating their last year’s lineup which includes the Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 8.0 and Galaxy Note 2 models to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. While that is good news for owners of the said models, what is not is that there are no such leaks that can keep us updated on what Samsung is up to with its Galaxy Note 2 device.

samsung-galaxy-note-3

Meanwhile, Samsung have on their own not confirmed any of these leaked information that is doing the rounds. However, these sources maintain that the Android 4.2.2 update would bring many of the features of the Galaxy S4 to the Galaxy S3 model. Information on the date this update would be made available has been rumored to be in the months of July to September. This is for all the devices mentioned above except for the Galaxy Note 8.0 model. Samsung is working on that too, but the corresponding dates cannot be speculated to any bit of accuracy.

These bits of information have their origin from SamMobile, whose speculations have been pretty close to the reality. The reports even go on to state that the update for the Galaxy Note 8.0 when it comes up would lead to improved battery life as well as enhanced performance credentials of the device. The leaked update may not be the finished product and therefore those installing the same should be well aware of this aspect. The update, especially on the Galaxy Note 8.0 would necessitate a data wipe. Whether to take this risk for the update which is not yet official has to be weighed very seriously. Users of the Galaxy Note 2 however would have to wait longer for even a leaked version of the update for their device. That also has been speculated to be available in the third quarter of this year.

That Samsung is working hard towards providing the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update to all users of their older devices is all too evident. It is a question now about when the update will officially be launched.

Samsung Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note Android Jelly Bean Update Status

May 29, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Though Samsung’s Galaxy series is continuously hitting new devices in the market, older devices are not left in the dark. The Galaxy Note 1 and Galaxy S3 are among the latest devices to get the latest Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software upgrade.

The Android 4.1.2 update for the Galaxy Note 1 was released by Rogers and Bell for Canadian users on May 3rd. It is a downloadable update via Kies desktop application. The Galaxy Note, the first phablet, has harnessed a huge customer-base, so Samsung has been prompt with updates to improve user experience.

Updates from T-Mobile and Sprint for Samsung Galaxy S3 started rolling out on May 13th, involving a sizeable 186MB download over the air (OTA) or manually via KIES, Samsung’s server. Devices with baseband version T999UVDLJC were the first to receive the OTA upgrade, bringing the baseband version to T999UVDMD5. Users can check for the update on the “About Device” screen. The Galaxy S3 is likely to get some of the coveted features of the current flagship Galaxy S4 via the Android 4.2.2 update in June.

Though not a big overhaul, the Android 4.1.2 update unleashes a Multi-window feature, which allows simultaneous operation of two apps. The feature can also turned off from the notification pulldown’s settings toggles options. Apart from security enhances and bug fixes, the update will allow auto-pairing via NFC and provide better camera options.  The update will also add new apps namely, Paper Artist, Blocking Mode, Easy Mode, Sound Balance and Samsung Gallery.

While T-Mobile and Sprint customers can access the Galaxy S3 update, Verizon and AT&T customers are still left to wait. Coming to the Galaxy Note 1, Canada users have been fortunate, but a roll out for other regions has yet to be announced.

Samsung Galaxy Note Android Jelly Bean Update For Telus Releases

May 10, 2013 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

There has been many a Samsung device that has been waiting in the wings to make the jump onto Android Jelly Bean territory. The original Galaxy Note is one such. The update too is being rolled out in phases though the same from Telus has been in the works for quite some time now. Many had expected the update will arrive at Telus in April though the schedule was later revised to May. However, we are already into that part of the year and if you have been wondering the whereabouts of the Jelly Bean update, well here it is.

galaxy-note-jelly-bean-update

Telus has made it known they are already in the process of rolling out the Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Note device. Notifications are being sent out though the deployment is being carried out in stages. What this means is that it is only a few batch of Galaxy Note users that are being provided the update and not all at one go. Meanwhile, it would be a good idea to check for yourself if you are among the lucky few right now even if you haven’t received any official notification so far. For this, tap on the Menu option followed by Settings, About Device and then tapping on the Check the Android Version option. Tap on the download option if the Jelly Bean files are there.

As for the goodies to having the latest Android Jelly Bean version on board, there are quite a few. First and foremost is the performance enhancement that Jelly Bean brings along which can be attributed to the outcome of the Project Butter based implementations that Google has incorporated in Jelly Bean. Google Now which can be considered to be Google’s answer to Apple’s personal assistant app, Siri is another cool feature to look forward to in Jelly Bean. These apart, there are also many new features that Samsung had added to the Jelly Bean package and is definitely worth checking out.

Galaxy Note Problems for AT&T Users Performance Issues Post AndroidJelly Bean Update

May 9, 2013 By David Crozier 1 Comment

While AT&T Galaxy Note users in the US are indeed greeted with the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, it unfortunately is not without its own set of problems. If getting the Jelly Bean update later than other users of the Galaxy Note was not enough, a couple of teething problems has come to mar the experience of those who have jumped on to the Jelly Bean bandwagon.

Samsung_Galaxy_Note

First off, in what can be considered to be the biggest issue that users of the AT&T Galaxy Note users have reported is the lack of the Multi Window View feature, something that they all had though will be integral to the update. After all, the feature was made available to all international users of the Galaxy Note via the Jelly Bean update though unfortunately, the same didn’t apply for US customers of the Samsung device. While there is no explanation available to clarify the omission, many believe it could be performance issues that led to the feature getting axed. However, there are reasons to be disappointed for the Multi Window View feature not making the cut as it was something that has made the Galaxy Note 2 that much more desirable. Also, having the same at the first gen Galaxy Note would have added to its functionality despite its age.

Another major issue that the Galaxy Note owners who have updated to Jelly Bean have to deal with is batter drain that has increased abnormally. Some users have reported having lost 66 percent of battery within just 20 minutes of usage. While this is subjective as it’s not known as different apps have different effect on the battery, what has become amply clear is that users are having to face increased battery drain post the Jelly Bean update on the whole.

If all of the above aren’t enough, many of the users are also complaining their Galaxy Note have slowed down significantly with Jelly Bean on board. This, when Jelly with its Project Butter enhancements are supposed to made the device perform better and faster.

Let’s hope AT&T has the solution to the above issues ready son enough.

Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update Now Available For AT&T

May 8, 2013 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

The Samsung Galaxy Note will finally taste of Jelly Bean thanks to the update now being finally made available. However, the above applies to AT&T branded Note devices with the update now ready to be downloaded and applied on individual devices.

However, an over the air release is still no where in sight and the general opinion is not to wait for the carrier to come up with an OTA update. As it is, the update is already delayed as Samsung had begun the Androud 4.1 roll out process for the Galaxy Note devices in February itself.

att-galaxy-note

However, thanks to the plethora of deployment issues along with other innumerous reasons best known to perhaps AT&T and Samsung, the update took some more months to finally make it to device owners. As it is, it’s the unlocked versions of the devices and international customers who are generally the early recipients of any update with the carrier versions perhaps the last in that order. So as things stand right now, one will have to download the Android 4.1 update from the Samsung Kies site.

As for the benefits of migrating to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, well there are many. Perhaps the most important of these will be the jump in performance that Jelly Bean brings along, something that can be attributed to the Project Butter treatment that Jelly Bean has been provided with. An update to Jelly Bean also comes with a lot of other convenient features which includes Google Now, PopUp Video, Pop-up Note to mention just a few.

The Galaxy Note was the first 5 inch device that Samsung had introduced which in turn had opened up a whole new segment, that of phablets. It had turned out to be an instant hit so much that it led to a mad rush among other manufacturers to bring along their own versions of a phablet. The Note though is characterized by the presence of a stylus of its own which greatly enhances it functionality.

Samsung Galaxy Note Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update – Rumors suggest To Release In May

April 24, 2013 By Mary Duncan 4 Comments

The innovative Samsung Galaxy Note has finally reached EOL (end of life), however just like what have been discussed before, this does not signify that the gadget in question will not obtain any more software innovation and developments. There is still something in store. According to rumors, there will be something new which every gadget lover and critic should watch out.

In truth, the Android 4.1 update is still anticipated to hit other those other models at a handful of producers, and according to rumor is that the gadget will also profit from Android 4.2.2 sooner than Samsung will cease tagging along the new OS editions for the innovative phablet.

57_samsung_galaxy_s2_i9100__logo

However, when it comes to producers and the latest news accessibility (Samsung Galaxy Note Jelly Bean), TELUS’ buyers is still anticipating for Android 4.1 to hit their gadgets, and if you are one of them then these this something you should know and wish to learn about how  and what your mobile provider could give you regarding the latest updates of the said application.

It was last year when TELUS has ignored the final release date of the Android 4.1 update up until April. There were lots of clues about it that the universal/international roll-out could be finalized in April, however it was not the issue either.

Regrettably, TELUS’ “upcoming software update schedule” page at present displays that the innovative Note should obtain the hit to Android 4.1 up until May this year. There is no precise release month in sight, and there are no any other updates when and where it will happen. As the provider states it, “Expected dates are estimates and are subject to change“.

The delay which is actually caused either by the producer or by Samsung (as we have beforehand seen in an additional producer’s issue), the answer is still unclear. On the other hand, the most essential thing here is that gadget lovers and reviewers are still waiting for it. The final month and time of the release are very much awaited. Even gadget reviewers and critics are very keen when it comes to the latest updates regarding the gadget.
