Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update For Galaxy Note 2 Skipped, Android 4.3 Update by Samsung Instead

By Leave a Comment

Samsung has some good news and some bad news rolled into one. To begin with the bad news, the Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy Note 2 device is reported to have been scrapped. However, the good news supersedes this as Samsung is reported to be working instead on the Android 4.3 update, which will be even more up-to-date.

android-4-3

Now, the above if true will make a lot of sense considering Android 4.3 will be the newest Android version and will be in relevance till Android 5 Key Lime Pie comes on to the scene. There already are rumors of Google launching Android 5 during early 2014. A confirmation to this effect has been received by the Australian carrier Telstra though such a development is unlikely to be localized to any particular region. No specific time lines have been mentioned either.

Samsung is yet to officially confirm any of these developments but has assured owners of its Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 devices that they are committed to introducing the update to the latest Android versions. This will include not only the stock Android version but will also include the updated TouchWiz user interface. Such a line of thought will also save Samsung from having to devote its resources into developing the Android 4.3 update soon after they have done with Android 4.2.2.

Samsung meanwhile is expected to launch its Note 3 device on Sept 4, just 2 days before the IFA event kicks off. However, there is no reason to believe the Note 2 will fade into oblivion once its successor is launched. Moe so when Samsung has made it known they will continue to provide updates as and when they come along.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 & Galaxy S3 Could be getting Android 4.3 Update, not Android 4.2 Update

By Leave a Comment

With Android 4.3 seemingly approaching fast, the one option that Samsung seems to be weighing actively is to skip updating its last year flagship devices with Android 4.2 and instead let the devices have a taste of the latest Android flavor. The Android 4.3 Jelly Bean version is expected to be launched by next month itself and the corresponding update for the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 could be ready towards the end of this year itself.

Galaxy-Note-2--S3

Such a possibility comes against the backdrop of the Android 4.2 update for the Galaxy S3 getting leaked earlier in the year. Samsung had already stated its Android 4.2 update won’t just introduce the newest Android features to the Galaxy S3 but will also include some more which will make the last year’s flagship device almost at par with the current flagship, the S4. The leak already did prove such a line of thought. No doubt this will allow the users to keep their device fresh and updated as one steps in to the second year of their ownership. Galaxy Note 2 with Android 4.3 is yet to roll out in the market though.

The news about Samsung considering letting go of Android 4.2 update for the said devices in favor of Android 4.3 has emerged from Tremefy citing inside sources from Samsung’s R&D center in India. As Samsung is still working on both these devices, the arrival of them might be a bit delayed. The new date of arrival of the updates is suggested to be November, a month which can also expect the arrival of Nexus and also Android 5. All this news is still a rumor as Samsung is yet to make any confirmation. But both users of Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 might prepare themselves to receive Android 4.3 instead of 4.2.

Top 5 Smartphones Money Can Buy From Sprint

By Leave a Comment

Sprint, which ranks the third largest network service providers in the US, has come up with very interesting collaborations with smartphone device makers. Users of the Sprint services therefore have a large choice of smartphone’s that they can pick up from the service provider. Sprint not only provides some of the most attractive choice of phones to the consumer but also add on features that makes the deal more lucrative to the consumer. The second half of 2013 has seen big names in the Smartphone market launch several of their products, most of which have been included by sprint in their tie ups.

SPRINT BRAND LOGO

The most important feature of Sprint also called Now Network is that it offers the unlimited packages as yet, which the likes of AT&T, Verizon have long ago shelved.  Sprint is also a network that is fast expanding their 4G coverage, to give AT&T and Verizon a run for their money.

Subscribers of Sprint therefore have lots of benefits with choice of package for their network services as well as the smartphone that they can own. If there is a negative side to this entire aspect then that is the confusion that a consumer would fall into given such a large plethora of options to select from.

To help those who are in the confused zone, the best five smartphone to take up are listed here.

The suggestion would be the iPhone 5 which rules the roost. It would only be replaced by the iPhone 5S which is expected sometime later in this year. What the iPhone 5 from Sprint has that the device from other retailers doesn’t have is its unlimited data plan from Sprint itself. It also has the iOS 6 running on it with the iOS7 update assured when it comes out. The design and display of the iPhone 5 is already top notch. It comes with a tag of $199.00 and there is the option of getting pre-owned one at an even cheaper $50.

Next would be the Samsung Galaxy S4 which is also one of the high end makes from Samsung and Sprint once again offers unlimited data package with this device. The phone comes with a 1080p display and has apps like Air View which makes it an interesting buy for the consumer. The OS of this device is 4.2 Jelly Bean. The S4 is also about its good looks and style. Users get access to the 4G LTE network from Sprint with this device. Then there also is the option of buying via third party sellers which comes with no contract deal and therefore end up being cheaper than the price of the device at sprint’s site directly.

Next in line is the HTC One which is a phone of choice for many. It has a 1080p display screen, is built around a quad core processor and sports a unique camera having Ultrapixel resolution. Other apps of interest are the Sense 5 and HTC Zoe. The metallic designed phone is also about solidity and durability and is a choice of millions. Buyers could also try out the third party retailers for the phone with no contract binding with Sprint.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is the best choice on the sprint network. The device is one of the most powerful devices for its cost at present. Gamers and techno geeks both would find this device and its specs very attractive. Users must also remember that the updates for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 would be applicable for the Galaxy Note 2. This will make it almost at par with the current generation, enough to make for a compelling choice at a low cost.

The fifth place of choice is a fight between the LG Optimus G and the Samsung Galaxy S3 which the Samsung beats the LG device on the single issue of support. Updated for the LG Opitmus would never match that for the Samsung in its life cycle. It means the LG device would soon be outdated while the Samsung Galaxy S3 would not.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – Compare Possible Price, Design, Display, Features

By Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 hit the shelves in September last year, and just within a month five million units were sold. Samsung basically dominates the Android market with its cheap and diversified range of Android smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was a huge success and the manufacturer is about to come up with its successor, the Galaxy Note 3.

Consumers have been expecting a lot from Galaxy Note 3, and emerging rumors just spice up their anticipation with a new claim daily. However, relying on some trusted reports, sources and photos that surfaced on the internet in the past couple of months, Galaxy Note 3 specifications and release date can be estimated. An official unveil event is to take place at IFA 2013 at Berlin from 6-11 September.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Vs Note 3

samsung-galaxy-note-2-vs-samsung-galaxy-note-3

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 flaunted the usual plastic skin of Samsung smartphones, slim in its width and light in weight. Reportedly, Samsung considered variable skins for Note 3. The plastic coat seemed to dissatisfy consumers, who expect a metallic feel with their smartphone. The Korean tech was working on a metallic chassis, a plastic build (same as Galaxy S4) and a relatively different design.

However, it finally decided to stick to a plastic chassis, owing to the immense consumer satisfaction with design, display and specs of the newly launched Galaxy S4. Note 3 will lightly diminish in size than its predecessor. The smartphone is likely to measure 8mm in depth and 183gm in weight. The successor will compactly shed off 1.4mm thickness, but will flaunt a display greater by .4 inches than that of its predecessor. It will be facilitated with S-AMOLED capacitive display at an HD resolution (1080*1920).

Recently, SamMobile has been utilizing a metal-like band around the surface perimeters of its smartphones. This renders the devices with a polished look and semi-metallic feel. Hence, Note 3 is likely to endorse a polish metal-like bezel as well. Moreover, it is being rumored that Note 3 will be presented with a larger quantity of admirable accessories, than what its predecessor had.

OS and Processor

Plenty of contradictory rumors surfaced regarding the processor and OS of Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Initially, it was highly expected to debut with Android v5.0 Key Lime Pie, but the rumor was vigorously shattered when Google did not come up even with a tit-bit of Key Lime Pie at I/O Conference on June 10. But Google is likely to come up with a mildly upgraded version of Android Jelly Bean v4.2.2. Jelly Bean v4.3 is supposed to arrive in July-August. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to run on this upgraded Jelly Bean version that supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors @ 2.3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU have been proposed for Note 3. The smartphone is likely to arrive with an S-Pen stylus. Note 2 featured Quad-core Cortex-A9 1.6 GHz processor, Exynos Exynos 4412 Quad chipset and Mali-400 MP GPU. So, Note 3 will be more powerful than its predecessor.

galaxy-note-3

RAM and storage

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to feature 3GB RAM and will be available in three variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Note 2 featured 2GB of RAM, so its successor would observe much of an improvement with regard to internal storage capacity.

Camera

Galaxy Note 3 is likely to feature a 13MP camera whereas Note 2 possessed an 8MP camera. The camera will be facilitated with utility specifications, such as LED flash, simultaneous HD image and video recording, touch focus, geo-tagging, image stabilization and smile detection. Other advanced camera specifications like Eye Scroll, Eye Pause and a 2MP secondary camera are to be present in Note 3.

note3-vs-note2

Price

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is currently available at $299 on-contract. Galaxy Note 3 is likely to bear an on-contract price tag of $350. If you want to buy it off-contract, then you may have to pay about $650.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is likely to surface at IFA 2013 and will be available from September-October. Samsung manages to surprise and satisfy its fans with its Android smartphones. Samsung Note 3 is supposed to abide by its fans’ expectations as well. iPhone 5S, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One Max and HTC T6 are supposed competitors of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 vs Galaxy Note 3 – Best Android Phone vs Talked Android Phablet

By Leave a Comment

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was one of the finest smartphones of 2012. It remained on top of the smartphone sales chart in 2012 for quite some time. So, there is a huge anticipation going on around the upcoming Galaxy Note 3. Although Samsung has not yet confirmed anything over the release of Galaxy Note 3, the success of Note 2 would probably convince Samsung to bring out the third generation Galaxy Note. However, it is also not confirmed if Galaxy Note 3 would be called the same or be tagged with a different caption.Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3

Release

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was unveiled in August 2012 and released a month later. Sources suggest that Galaxy note 3 would be unveiled at international Funkausstellung Berlin at early September this year.

Design

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was prepared with plastic like former flagships of Samsung and weighed only 6.46 oz with slimmer corners. The smartphone possessed touch sensitive back and navigation buttons on either sides of the menu button. Reportedly, Samsung is focusing on three prototype layouts for its upcoming flagships, specifically for its Note 3. Note 3 may be similar with Galaxy S4, possessing a metal-like band over its entire surface perimeters and miss out the touch sensitive buttons on either sides of the menu button. However, sources reveal that Samsung is experimenting with flexible touch screen and metal chassis for the Galaxy Note 3.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2

Display

Galaxy Note 2 bore an S-AMOLED capacitive touch screen display of 5.5 inches of 720*1280 pixels resolution under 267 ppi density. Note 3 may be possessing a 5.99 or 6.0 inches display of super HD resolution. Pixel density of Note 2 was lower than S3. But probably, Samsung won’t do the same this time with an augmented display dimension in its Note 3. Either, it will be similar to that of S4 or may be higher than that. Note 3 is being rumored to feature similar diamond pixel structure as that of S4. But reportedly, Samsung is concentrating on OLED display, which might be incorporated into the Galaxy Note 3.

Camera

Galaxy Note 2 possessed an 8MP camera of 3264×2448 pixels resolution featuring LED flash, autofocus, simultaneous HD image and video recording, dual shot, smile and face detection, touch focus, image stabilization and geo-tagging. Note 3 is likely to possess a 13MP camera of 4128 x 3096 pixels resolution with similar specs as that of S4.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2

Memory

Galaxy S4 featured 2GB RAM with a card slot capacitated with 64GB storage. It was released in three variants of 64GB, 32GB and 16GB. Note 3 may be possessing a 3GB RAM.

Processor

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 ran on Android Jelly Bean v.4.1.1 and was powered by Exynos 4412 Quad, MALI 400, 1.6 GHz Cortex A9 Quad Core processor. Galaxy Note 3 may possess an Exynos 5 octa-core processor, MALI 450 8 core graphics. The 5-octa is featured with quad core 2.0 GHz Cortex A15 ARM 28nm processor.

Operating System

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 operated on Android Jelly Bean v.4.1.1. Note 3 is likely to carry the latest version of Android Jelly Bean v.4.2.2.

Price

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was carried by Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, T-Mobile, Rogers, Bell, Telus, SaskTel, Mobilicity, WIND, Videotron and Sprint Nextel. Currently, it is available at an on-contract price of $299.99 and an off-contract price of $649. However, these rates may vary according to the carrier, retailer and contract. Price of Galaxy Note 3 is a bit hard to estimate but probably its pricing would be around $700.

There has been no official announcement by Samsung over its Galaxy Note 3. Recently, the Korean tech announced the Samsung Galaxy Mega that would be available in two variants of 6.3 inches and 5.8 inches. The tinnier model would hit the shelves by 27th May, whereas the larger variant would arrive on June 17. But rumors surrounding the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 don’t seem to slow down. If released in September this year, Apple iPhone 5S can be expected to be its competitor. Apple is likely to bring out the iPhone 5S and iPad 5 by September-October this year.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note-3

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 performed well at the smartphone market. So, users have certainly increased their expectations over its successor. But official statements from Samsung still remain unavailable. Samsung has always managed to please its customers via its innovation. Galaxy Note 3 is likely to feature an absolutely new set of features. Reports reveal that Note 3 would be quite different to the previous Galaxy models by Samsung and may be marketed under a different name. Specs featured in Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Note 2 was considerably augmented in the Galaxy S4. But it seems that Samsung is planning something distant and new with the Galaxy Note 3 and probably an innovative set of features would be introduced into the model rather than augmented follow-ups of its predecessors.

Samsung is currently concentrating on altering its flagships’ display and construction base. So, Galaxy Note 3 may arrive a bit later than expected but bring along a new exciting range of modules.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Price Dropped At T-Mobile – will be available on-contract for $199.99

By Leave a Comment

T-Mobile has gone ahead and cut down the price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 by almost half. It was offered at a very high price of $ 369 on-contract just today. Samsung’s 5.5-inch phablet will be available on-contract for $199.99, through the deal, that runs through Sunday, March 3rd. this is a huge drip from the $299.99 on-contract.

However, this is only a web offer and you won’t find the deal available through many retailers such as Amazon. The deal will end once the clock strikes midnight on March 4th. The device gets back the original price after that.
Samsung-Galaxy-Note-2-925659445-7186962-2
The Galaxy Note 2, as well as Galaxy S3, is one of the top devices at the moment. This unique smartphone supports a massive display and is bundled with S-Pen stylus. Shoppers will be delighted with this great price drop and already are taking advantage of the offer till it lasts.

Galaxy Note 2 defines an upper jump for mobile, that was big but very
pocketable and one take only minutes to get used to it. It gathered tons of attention and is ultimately the right one for you, if your pocket can afford it.

It shares the industrial design language that is very close to Samsung Galaxy S 3 and it is easy to note the similarities between the two. They share the same ambient light sensor, front facing camera, and LED positions. The display size definitely gets bigger with Note 2 from 5.3-inches diagonal to 5.5 inches. There is a Marble White variant as well as Titanium Gray model.

T-Mobile announced Galaxy Note 2 about 4 month ago alongside the LG Optimus. Other devices expecting such price drops include Galaxy Note 10.1 successor and the much-rumored Galaxy Note 8.0 and some more. Samsung is also a range of budget Galaxy smartphones to Mobile World Congress.

Samsung is also believed to be bringing a selection of budget Galaxy smartphones to Mobile World Congress and a possible reboot of its Galaxy Tab line-up with both Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 3 7-inch models leaked and rumoured.

Samsung Galaxy S3 ,Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Gets Updated At MWC, Can transfer Data from old smartphones to new ones

By Leave a Comment

In a world where consumers are constantly switching to new smartphones that are launched in the market Samsung has decided to come up with better solutions that can allow consumers to quickly transfer the details and data to the new smartphone without any manual efforts. Samsung has come up with the new security suite for Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 and it might also be available in the much anticipated Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung has now made an announcement about SAFE with Knox at the Mobile World Congress that offers consumers with the options to transfer data and information safely from old smartphones to new ones.

Samsung claims that they would not like consumers to carry multiple phones like work phone and personal phone since most consumers believe that it is too tedious to transfer all the data manually from one smartphone to another.
samsung_galaxy_note_2_vs_galaxy_s3
Hence, they have come up with better options that allow consumers to quickly jump between work and personal smartphones as and when required. With the help of SAFE with Knox Samsung users can now carry just a single smartphone and keep both the information in the same phone but flip the environment as per requirements.

With the new software Samsung smartphone users can tap the work icon and they can immediately enter the work environment on their smartphone where they only see data related to their work. The overall interface looks very different from the kind of interface that Samsung S3 consumers normally see. However, a secure password is required to access all the important and secret information user wants to access. Samsung believes that this kind of technologies can offer consumers with good options to switch between work and personal use so that they can make their personal smartphones their work phones as well whenever required.
