Samsung Milk Music Stream Radio Revealed

By Leave a Comment

samsung milk music app There are many music streaming apps available on the market right now. One might say too many. We have the popular Spotify, Beats Music, Pandora and the legendary iTunes Radio. It seems that there’s always room for one more. Samsung Milk Music Stream Radio app doesn’t come with a groundbreaking approach to music streaming but it does have some rather interesting interface offerings. The music found on Milk Music is comes from Slacker Radio featuring over 13 million songs from 200 radio stations.

The interface looks fast and flexible, with a jog-wheel kind of control style. It has an outer wheel for shuttling between plenty of radio stations and an inside wheel for turning to a specified station. There is a song catalog divided into 15 general music genres, from jazz to rock to dance music, with nine of these genres being displayed on the jogwheel anytime you want.

With Samsung Milk Music stream radio you can customize your own radio station based on a specific song or artist and it lets you skip songs that you don’t want to hear. You can skip six songs per station, every hour. You have onscreen indications showing you how many skips you have left.

Samsung Milk Music Stream Radio new interface

Milk Music is great for scanning quickly between genres and music stations. The music plays instantly and you can access hundreds of stations in little time, although what you will hear on Milk Music is not very different from what you would hear on SiriusXM or Pandora but the great advantage is that Milk Music is a free service. Samsung Milk Music Stream Radio doesn’t play ads, just some occasional promotional spots from Slacker. Another great thing about it is that you’re not required to create an account or to log in. you download it and you start playing the music. Only if the songs have explicit lyrics, then you must create a Samsung account.

Samsung Milk Music Stream Radio is available in Google Play store and it works on Samsung Galaxy S4, the S3, the S4 mini, the Galaxy Note 2, Note 3, Galaxy Mega and the new Galaxy S5.

The Oscar Selfie Phone – Samsung Galaxy Note 3

By 1 Comment

Everybody’s talking about the Oscar selfie phone, the phone Bradley Cooper used to take the now infamous Oscar selfie picture, that included Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong’o, Brad Pitt, Ellen DeGeneres, Kevin Spacey, Meryl Streep, Channing Tatum, Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts (and a bit of Jared Leto) at this year’s 2014 Oscars. The picture was the most retweeted photo in Twitter’s history (having reached 3 million tweets), it almost broke the social media website and it was not taken with a Samsung Galaxy S5, as many believes, but with a Samsung Galaxy Note 3!

Oscar Selfie Phone Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is a large and powerful phone. It’s not for people who like to fiddle around on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram; it’s for people who mean business. Its huge 5.7’’ screen size (with a resolution of 1080×1920 pixels) makes it quite hard to keep in your hand, no matter what Samsung says about this, but it gives you the freedom to work with applications that wouldn’t be quite handy on a regular 4’’ or 5’’ screen.

The hardware is quite impressive: it has got a 1.9 GHz octa-core processor, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (expandable up to 64GB through a microSD card). It’s running Android 4.3 but you can upgrade it to Android 4.4 Kit Kat, soon, sources say.

The Oscar selfie phone, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has plenty of sensors, such as a magnometer, accelometer, ambient light sensor, a barometer and a temperature sensor, which means that you can basically tell the temperature and humidity in a room. With the risk of sounding like an old fart, what will they think of next?!

Did you know that the Oscar selfie phone wasn’t Ellen’s own phone (she owns an iPhone)? It was a product placement for Samsung; yes, the company had an ad deal with ABC to feature the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 in the ceremony. Samsung was so pleased that the photo reached so many retweets, that they donated $3 million to charities of Ellen’s choice? That was really big of Samsung! Even if the whole thing was crass product placement, we have to say: well done, Samsung!

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Launch Date Choice of CPU, Fingerprint Sensor, Other Features Discussed

By Leave a Comment

The next big thing coming our way from Samsung is of course the Galaxy Note 3. With an unpacked event scheduled on September 4, analysts are betting the launch of the Note 2 successor on that day though some believe the D-Day could be on the 6th of September as well. While a debate continues on which of these two days Samsung eventually chooses to launch the Note 3, a clear picture seems to have emerged with the device irrespective of when it is eventually launched.

Galaxy-Note

Another quite significant development to have happened in the meantime is the launch of the new Exynos Octa 5420 chip today as was promised by Samsung. The new chip marks a considerable improvement over the previous Exynos 5420 chip with enhanced 3D processing capability touted to be twice that of the 5410. Also, Samsung has revealed that the new 5420 chip will be able to support OpenGL ES 3.0 and Full Profile Open CL 1.1. This, the company claims “enables the horsepower needed in multi-layer rendering of high-end, complex gaming scenarios, post-processing and sharing of photos and video, as well as general high-function multi-tasking operations”. Further, the new chip is slated to hit production lines in August.

As such, analysts have been quick to predict that all of the above makes it just right for the new Exynos 5420 to be just right to make it into the new Galaxy Note 3 device which is set to be launched in September. However, experts have also been saying that there is no reason to believe Samsung won’t be following the same strategy as far as the choice of processor is concerned as it did with the S4. So there could be variants of the Note 3 powered by the Snapdragon 800 chip (clocked at 2.3 Ghz) meant for sale in the US and Europe. For the rest of the world, Samsung could rely on its own Exynos 5420 chip to power the Note 3 devices.

Meanwhile, positioned as it is at the premium segment, there surely will be no dearth of high end features on the Galaxy Note 3. However, there could still be one extremely desirable feature less on the Note 3, that being a fingerprint sensor. Samsung has reportedly been working with Validity Sensors for the incorporation of fingerprint tracking technology in the Note 3 device. However, according to the latest on this front, such claims could well have hit the wall due to production issues as Validity is reported to have failed to deliver the sensors in enough quantity for Samsung to consider fitting them in the Note 3 while still sticking to the September launch schedule. This no doubt will be extremely disappointing if it’s indeed true considering Samsung’s arch rival Apple too is being rumored to be including such a feature in its upcoming iPhone device. However, while a fingerprint tracker could have led to higher security for the Note 3 device, the phablet will boast of several security measures, including the Samsung KNOX.

The rest of the features that are being associated with the Note 3 include a 5.7 inch display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. There could be two different displays on offer, a Super AMOLED and a Super LCD display though both will have the same resolution. The big screen smartphone will come with a 3 GB RAM while internal memory options could range from 16 GB to 64 GB. The primary camera will include a 13 mp sensor and will also incorporate advanced image stabilizing feature to allow for better photography. Further, Samsung Eye Scroll and Eye Pause eye tracking technology could also be a part of the new Note 3 device.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra Rumored to Release on September 13, To Face off against Samsung Galaxy Note 3

By Leave a Comment

Word on the street is that the Xperia Z Ultra from Sony has been scheduled for a release on September 13, which if true will mean it’s just a few days that will separate the Sony launch from that of its competitor, the Galaxy Note 3’s unveiling. The next gen Samsung phablet is expected to be launched on September 4, just two days prior to the 2013 edition of the IFA kicks off on September 6. Sony had hinted at a launch window of the third quarter of this year during the unveiling of the Xperia Z Ultra earlier in the year. While, we are well into that period, an official release date is still elusive. However, retailers seem to be settling down to the date of September 13 which might not have been set in stone yet though does seem to have the highest probability right now. The credit for coming across a specific launch date should go to XperiaBlog that had first comes across at the likely launch date of September 13.

Xperia Z Ultra

Retailers Clove, Handtec as well as Amazon are also expecting the release date of Xperia Z Ultra to be on 13th September which is just two months away. However, Samsung and Sony are not the only two companies that will be launching their own take on a phablet device this September. In fact, the month of September can well be considered as the month of phablets what with HTC too expected to unveil its One Max, the phablet version of its One smartphone during the same month.

Coming back to the Sony offering, the Xperia Z Ultra is no doubt a massive device, even from the most conservative of estimates. However, it has perhaps set upon itself an even bigger task, that of taking on the segment leader, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Towards that, its makers have endowed with specs which speak of a 6.4 inch 1080p display which will make it the biggest among phablets, even nearer to tablet devices. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will have a display screen of 5.7 inches. The device will also include an 8 mp camera though the most unique aspect of the Sony phablet is that apart from being compliant with the standard stylus, users can also use a regular pencil to write on the display. These apart, the Xperia Ultra is built around a quad core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz all of which will be encased within a dust and water resistant body.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Release Date Specs to Feature New Exynos 5 Octa Chip

By Leave a Comment

Samsung has announced that it will have a new processor ready for release next week. Named Exynos 5 Octa, the chip is also being considered to be the right fit for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 device as well. With the Note 3 already having been leaked ample of times and the rumors of release date are also circulating, rumors are unable to decide about the actual processor that will be coming inside the Galaxy Note 3.

According to some inside information Samsung can employ one of the three processors, the Snapdragon Qualcomm 800 chip, the present Exynos 5 Octa or it could be the new Exynos 5 Octa processor. Although Samsung has made no confirmation so far regarding what exactly is to be seen inside its Galaxy Note 3 device, the Samsung Exynos’ Twitter account though has made it clear the company is all set to launch the latest Exynos 5 Octa sometime next week.

Exynos

Samsung on the other hand is tight lipped about the specifications, although it has mentioned the new chip will mark a significant improvement over the current version. Various rumor streams had mentioned the development of Exynos 5420 at the Samsung camp and experts believe it will be the Exynos 5420 that eventually will be launched next week. And then, at least one Note 3 variant powered by the new chip can’t be ruled out either. It is also possible that Samsung brings forth two variants just like it did with Galaxy S4. It can have one powered with the Snapdragon 800 chip and the other having the Exynos Octa 5 at its core.

The Exynos 5 Octa processor was first announced at the CES, this year and it made its actual debut inside Galaxy S4 early this year. The processor comprises of 8 cores though it’s only 4 cores that is in action at any given time to maximize on battery life while still delivering superior performance.

Although there is no such guarantee that this is the processor which is expected to be found inside Note 3, though things seem to be shaping out that way, what with the new Note 3 due to be launched in early September. Some other talked about specs of Note 3 includes a 13 MP camera, along with a 5.7 inch 1080p display. All of them can only be confirmed on Galaxy Note 3 release date.

HTC One MAX Rumored For September Release, To take on Samsung Galaxy Note 3

By Leave a Comment

HTC has already made it known they wish to have a chunk of the growing phablet market with its upcoming HTC One Max, which means the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has every reason to feel threatened. There does exist a distinct phablet market which sits above the smartphone segment but at a rung lower than the tablets. HTC has already tasted success with its One device in the smartphone arena, which means a natural progression for them will be to venture out in the phablet space as well. And they do have what it takes to give the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 a run for its money in the form of the HTC One Max. The latter can even be considered to better the Samsung offering in that the One Max incorporates an all metal body compared to the plastic cladding for the Galaxy Note 3.

HTC One Max

Now coming to the rumor stories, The HTC One Max is likely to be released in September, which is also when Samsung is expected to launch the Note 3 as well. MobileGeeks also confirmed the release schedule as well as the likely specification in their latest report. Another source where the release period of September can be confirmed is in a leaked Verizon document which has since been removed. @evleaks, quite good at their job of capturing and making others aware of these bits of information specifies September 6 as the release date. The Verizon edition of the HTC One should be a reality before this date.

The IFA 2013 event is all set to kick off in Berlin on Sep 6 which means it could be the likely event where HTC could announce the launch of their HTC One Max. Samsung too will have a sizeable presence at the IFA event and the Galaxy Note 3 will be one of the major attractions of their camp. However, what seems likely is that Samsung will hold a separate event before that date for the launch of the Note 3.

So far as specs of the HTC ONE Max are concerned, what is natural is that it would compete with the Galaxy Note 3 in every aspect. The phablet will likely come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip rated at 2.3 GHz, 2 GB of RAM along with internal storage options of either 32 or 64 GB. Upfront, it’s a 6 inch full HD display that is being rumored, which if true will make it larger than the Note 3 and at par with the Sony Xperia Ultra. The battery pack would be of 3200 mAh as per the speculations.

For those who would like to get a comparative figure vis-à-vis the Galaxy Note 3, the Samsung device is rumored to come with a 5.75 inch 1080p display. The processor is going to be either an Exynos Octa 5 chip or Snapdragon 800. RAM would be 2-3 GB and the storage capacity of 16 GB.

If the above is indeed true, than what is evident is that the higher onboard storage capacity of the HTC One Max would sure be an advantage for them. Fortunately for Samsung, they usually have MicroSD card option on their devices that allow more storage should one need it.

So going by the release dates as is being rumored, there is sure to be a good fight between Samsung and HTC, something that should bring back the memories of the Galaxy S4 vs HTC One duel. Meanwhile, HTC is also planning to come out with the HTC One Mini in July this year which will come with a 4.3 inch 720p display along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip at its core.

New Nexus 7 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Confirmed – Release Date in IFA 2013

By Leave a Comment

Both Samsung Galaxy S3 as well as the new Google Nexus 7 tablet is coming in this season itself, according to a new certification in Asia. Certifying a certain product basically means a sort of confirmation that the particular device is in production already, or it might be ready for shipping or even be available in the market. The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be hitting IFA 2013 to be held in Europe, late in this quarter though there is no news from the Google’s end regarding the release date of its Nexus 7 2 device.

Note 3

According to rumors Galaxy S3 release date is expected to sport a rather big 6 inch display like that of the Galaxy Mega. According to a BGR article of the previous week, the Note 3 will also have four variants, much like the Galaxy Active, Zoom and Mini variants that we have seen bring derived from the base Galaxy S4 device. Similarly, Samsung is also likely to launch the Note 3 with different as well as unique features, colors, and also display sizes. The South Korean company will surely like to achieve the maximum penetration with the Note 3 by launching it with all the four major carriers in the US.

However, while Samsung used to be the sole player in the phablet segment which it is also credited to have created in the first place, it will soon lose the monopoly it once enjoyed. For manufacturers like Sony, HTC, LG as well as a few others are also eyeing the segment with equal zeal. This no doubt will force Samsung to come up with an even better product. HTC is expected to be launching its latest phablet, the HTC One Max at the end of the year while Sony has already launched its Xperia Z Ultra which comes with a rather large 6.4 inch display.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Vs Samsung Galaxy Note 3 – Compare Possible Price, Design, Display, Features

By Leave a Comment

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 hit the shelves in September last year, and just within a month five million units were sold. Samsung basically dominates the Android market with its cheap and diversified range of Android smartphones. Samsung Galaxy Note 2 was a huge success and the manufacturer is about to come up with its successor, the Galaxy Note 3.

Consumers have been expecting a lot from Galaxy Note 3, and emerging rumors just spice up their anticipation with a new claim daily. However, relying on some trusted reports, sources and photos that surfaced on the internet in the past couple of months, Galaxy Note 3 specifications and release date can be estimated. An official unveil event is to take place at IFA 2013 at Berlin from 6-11 September.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Vs Note 3

samsung-galaxy-note-2-vs-samsung-galaxy-note-3

Design and Display

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 flaunted the usual plastic skin of Samsung smartphones, slim in its width and light in weight. Reportedly, Samsung considered variable skins for Note 3. The plastic coat seemed to dissatisfy consumers, who expect a metallic feel with their smartphone. The Korean tech was working on a metallic chassis, a plastic build (same as Galaxy S4) and a relatively different design.

However, it finally decided to stick to a plastic chassis, owing to the immense consumer satisfaction with design, display and specs of the newly launched Galaxy S4. Note 3 will lightly diminish in size than its predecessor. The smartphone is likely to measure 8mm in depth and 183gm in weight. The successor will compactly shed off 1.4mm thickness, but will flaunt a display greater by .4 inches than that of its predecessor. It will be facilitated with S-AMOLED capacitive display at an HD resolution (1080*1920).

Recently, SamMobile has been utilizing a metal-like band around the surface perimeters of its smartphones. This renders the devices with a polished look and semi-metallic feel. Hence, Note 3 is likely to endorse a polish metal-like bezel as well. Moreover, it is being rumored that Note 3 will be presented with a larger quantity of admirable accessories, than what its predecessor had.

OS and Processor

Plenty of contradictory rumors surfaced regarding the processor and OS of Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Initially, it was highly expected to debut with Android v5.0 Key Lime Pie, but the rumor was vigorously shattered when Google did not come up even with a tit-bit of Key Lime Pie at I/O Conference on June 10. But Google is likely to come up with a mildly upgraded version of Android Jelly Bean v4.2.2. Jelly Bean v4.3 is supposed to arrive in July-August. Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to run on this upgraded Jelly Bean version that supports Bluetooth 4.0 LE.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processors @ 2.3 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU have been proposed for Note 3. The smartphone is likely to arrive with an S-Pen stylus. Note 2 featured Quad-core Cortex-A9 1.6 GHz processor, Exynos Exynos 4412 Quad chipset and Mali-400 MP GPU. So, Note 3 will be more powerful than its predecessor.

galaxy-note-3

RAM and storage

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to feature 3GB RAM and will be available in three variants of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Note 2 featured 2GB of RAM, so its successor would observe much of an improvement with regard to internal storage capacity.

Camera

Galaxy Note 3 is likely to feature a 13MP camera whereas Note 2 possessed an 8MP camera. The camera will be facilitated with utility specifications, such as LED flash, simultaneous HD image and video recording, touch focus, geo-tagging, image stabilization and smile detection. Other advanced camera specifications like Eye Scroll, Eye Pause and a 2MP secondary camera are to be present in Note 3.

note3-vs-note2

Price

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is currently available at $299 on-contract. Galaxy Note 3 is likely to bear an on-contract price tag of $350. If you want to buy it off-contract, then you may have to pay about $650.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is likely to surface at IFA 2013 and will be available from September-October. Samsung manages to surprise and satisfy its fans with its Android smartphones. Samsung Note 3 is supposed to abide by its fans’ expectations as well. iPhone 5S, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One Max and HTC T6 are supposed competitors of the much awaited Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Galaxy Note 3 Release Date to Feature Advanced Camera Features

By Leave a Comment

Advancing smartphone technology is on the verge of incorporating cameras that will meet the performance levels of standalone digital cameras. Samsung is also contributing much to the trend, as evident from reports that its Galaxy Note 3 on it’s release date will come with an improved camera, featuring optical image stabilization (OIS) capabilities and shutter functionalities.

samsung-galaxy-note-3

ETNews reports that the Galaxy Note 3’s rear camera will have a 13MP sensor and feature OIS capabilities. OIS technology, which is widely used in mobile devices, reduces blurring caused by motion while capturing images or shooting videos. Note 3’s 13MP camera may allow users to edit pictures with the S Pen. A 3x optical zoom is also under consideration, but it could be rejected because it may increase the thickness of the device, affecting its slim profile.

With the added camera features, Galaxy Note 3 will definitely be a powerful handset. The device is expected to sport a 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 3GB RAM and Samsung’s proprietary processor, i.e., the 8-core Exynos 5 Octa chip. The GPU is supposed to have 8 cores, making it all the more powerful.

True, smartphone cameras cannot supplant point-and-shoot digicams, but they are increasingly used as the primary camera. The Nokia’s PureView and HTC’s UltraPixel technologies are widely acclaimed camera technologies in the smartphone industry.  Latest technologies correct motion-induced issues at the lens or sensor level.

Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S4, is touted for its camera enhancements. The soon-to-be-launched Galaxy S4 is basically a camera phone likely to feature a 16MP sensor and 10x optical zoom. Samsung’s Android-based Galaxy Camera describes its proficiency in camera technology. So, it is not surprising to see enhanced camera features in the Galaxy Note 3 likely to be unveiled at the Germany IFA conference scheduled for September.

Samsung Galaxy Note III to be Unveiled at IFA 2013, Will Have a 5.7 inch Display

By Leave a Comment

With September approaching fast, rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Note III too seems to be picking up pace. According to a recent leak, the most awaited phablet is to launch at IFA on the 6th of September. According to some previous rumors, the device was expected to hit the market on 4th September. Korea Herald has stated that unnamed officials from the industry have mentioned the arrival of the device at the IFA 2013 event.

Samsung-Galaxy-Note

Also the latest as far as its specification is concerned claim the Note 3 will come with a 5.7 inch sized display and not a 6 inch one, something corroborated by the dependable @Evleaks as well. The 5.7 inch size is nonetheless perfect, since a device larger than this risk losing its portability factor. Case in point, the Xperia Z Ultra with its 6.44 inch screen is almost the same size as a 7 inch sized tablet.

As for the specifications that the Galaxy Note 3 is believed to pack in include a Snapdragon 800 or the Samsung Exynos 5420 chip mated to a 3 GB RAM. The 5.7 inch screen will have 1080p quality display to boast while the device will also offer LTE advanced connectivity and a 13 megapixel camera at the rear. At present there are no confirmations made by the Korean biggy regarding the launch of phablet. However the present scenario suggests it is time for the appearance of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, keeping in mind the stiff competition it has to face from the likes of Sony and HTC as well as other manufacturers, who are as well making an entry in the phablet market this year.
