Nook offers a new tablet. It is not actually that new because it is a redesigned Samsung Galaxy Tab. The new product is called Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook. The collaboration between Barnes & Nobles and Samsung delivers a skinned 7 inch tablet with decent specs.
The tablet runs Android KitKat 4.4 with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface added on. Although many accuse Samsung that its added skin on smartphones and tablets tends to slow the devices down, it comes with some benefits. One such benefit is that apps can be opened in multiple windows.
So the tablet sports a 7 inch 1280 X 720 pixels display and a quad core processor running at 1.2 Ghz. It is equipped with two cameras, one producing 3 MP images, while the other only 1.3 MP ones. The internal storage capacity is 8 GB and the RAM capacity is of 1.5 GB. The storage capacity can be extended through a MicroSD card. Wireless communication is ensured by a Wi-FI module, as no 3G module has been announced. Fortunately, the tablet has an embedded GPS module.
We already introduced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 line a couple of months ago. We concluded that basically they offer a satisfying price to quality ratio.
