Samsung Galaxy Tab S Beats The iPad Air and iPad mini Retina

June 16, 2014 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

samsung galaxy tab s What is one the best things provided by the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone that Samsung tablets users wanted the most?

Without making many mistakes, we think it is the AMOLED incredible display.

Recent news tell us that Samsung is planning to adjust the AMOLED display featured by the Galaxy S5 and transfer it to the larger Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablet, for the joy of all customers watching movies and videos on their tablets.

The best news is, however, that two such AMOLED – powered tablets are going to be among us very soon. According to tech journalists,

Coming in July in 8.4-inch ($399) and 10.5-inch ($499) sizes, both new tablets beat the iPad Air and iPad mini Retina when it comes to contrast, color and resolution. Plus, you can take calls and interact with your Galaxy S phone right from the larger display.

And that is not all. The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S is thinner, lighter, better looking and it definitely looks and feels modern and hi – tech. Samsung has been a fierce competitor to Apple. In the past years, it stole the show on more than one occasion with its smartphones and doesn’t fall behind when it comes to the tablet department, either.

Let’s see in short the most interesting specs as they were gathered by the lucky tech reviewers who got their hands on the devices:

The new tablets come in an 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch model, with a Super AMOLED display, 2560 x 1600 (Quad HD) screen resolution, the dimpled plastic texture that is reminiscent of the Galaxy S5, and feature either 1) an Exynos 5 Octa processor (Samsung’s own) or 2) a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor (2.3Ghz). The Galaxy Tab S collection comes in two colors currently (Gold Bronze or White), although it seems that a black with gold trim model may emerge sometime later along with the Galaxy Tab S LTE models.

Did we mention the tablets are 6.6mm thick and they both sport the microSD card able to support an additional memory storage of up to 128GB? While the Samsung Galaxy Tab S upcoming models are quite similar to the company’s latest flagship smartphone, they are definitely superior to both the iPad Air and the iPad Mini Retina, at least in the screen resolution department and slim body.

One more thing about these tablets, we left the best for the last:

These tablets have something that no other tablets do: a fingerprint scanner hidden under the home button. As with the Samsung Galaxy S 5, this is enabled for PayPal, to make online payment that bit simpler (or tempting, depending on your point of view).

As you see, Samsung doesn’t leave any room for mistakes when it comes to delivering new and exciting products. We are sure we will see a lot of reviews and tech analyses in the immediate future, so stay tuned to the news. So far, the Samsung tablets are described as amazing, but who knows what other spectacular details we will get our hands on?
