Legendary Surface Book – MacBook Pro Battle
The legendary Surface Book – MacBook Pro battle commences. It is just like any legendary brand battle, these two will be fighting to determine which one is the best, fastest, worthiest device that you might want to get your hands on. We have some big news for you, however. Before the battle starts and we see exactly what each one has to offer, we will be giving first place to the Surface Book.
There is no way to put it better. Why start a race if you know from the beginning that your engine is not able to take the heat? This is the MacBook Pro’s situation right here. Microsoft wanted to play the nice guy and claimed that their device has twice the firepower that the MacBook has. Still, playing nice could not concede the truth: the Surface is actually three times better than the MacBook. So let’s look into specifics.
The legendary Surface Book – MacBook Pro battle ended when people who tested the Surface Pro realized what they got their hands on. We need to mention this, however: the MacBook that was left behind is the 13 inch one. The 15 inch model is a totally different story. When you say MacBook 15, you’re already thinking about quad core CPUs, AMD graphics and a pretty beefy laptop.
Microsoft specifically targeted the 13 inch version because they knew that was the model they could beat. The 15 inch version is way too godlike for them. It’s as if you were putting an average PC next to an Alienware and started making comparisons. You could talk all you like, but the simple fact that you brought an Alienware into the discussion simply nullifies everything else.
In order to properly test the devices, some passionate PC nerds needed access to the MacBook Pro 13 released in 2015. Microsoft also provided their gear, without giving away too much information about the GPU, of course. The interesting thing is that they compared an i7-6600U MacBook with a Surface Book i5-6300u Skylake processor. And guess what? The Surface won.
Not only did the Surface win, it also gives us great insight that Microsoft have upped their technology ten times. You bring in one of the best processors on the market in a MacBook and compare it with a medium new processor in the Surface, which has a lower frequency, and the Surface Pro wins? Microsoft is definitely up to something.
So you do not only to keep an eye out for the Surface Pro, you also need to look out for the new Skylake processors. Microsoft is playing big games.
