The Playstation 4 is once again in the news. But this time the news isn’t that good.
Earlier, we were pleasantly surprised with a lot of the announcements regarding the phone. From the news about the DualShock 4 controller to the update on social integration the Playstation 4 appeared to be something worth waiting for.
But the latest update on the gaming console might not make you as happy.
You may already know that the PS4 has already been made available for pre-order. You must also know that the console is going to be hitting markets no sooner than the last few months of 2013. Based on what we are hearing though, this might not happen.
The initial plan for Sony was to ship between 12 million and 16 million units of the console in 2013 itself. But there have been reports that everything isn’t going according to plan. Sources have even confirmed that shipping instructions have not even been passed on to Sony’s supply chain yet. This means that there could be a significant delay prior to shipping of the consoles.
We still have high hopes for the device hitting markets by October though it doesn’t seem too likely now. This time-frame for launch has been popping up on numerous occasions earlier in the form of either a leak or a rumor. Nevertheless, if Sony were indeed planning to release the consoles in October, they should get their supply chain on track as soon as possible. After all, if enough units of the console don’t reach the target market in time, Sony will have no choice but to postpone the launch in those markets.
A lot of users will be hoping that this delay does not happen though and we will be constantly on the lookout for anything regarding the release date. Stay tuned for updates.
