Haden Blackman, the veteran of LucasArts, who led the Star Wars games franchise for more than ten years, will be the face of Hangar 13.
Hangar 13 is the brand new formation of 2K Games, which is the publisher of the famous games Borderlands and Civilization, and they “threaten” us with a new release that will change the gaming industry. Since the publisher has not yet released specifics about the first game they will create, we have been promised many great things from Hangar 13. The developers tease gamers with promises such as unique experiences and “next generation title” in which “players will shape their own experiences” according to Haden Blackman.
He said that choices made by people who will play the new Hangar 13 game, have moment – to-moment consequences on the entire gameplay, even on the gameworld itself, including characters and the game’s story line. Blackman also promised that he will offer players a unique experience every time they will adventure in the virtual world built around the soon to be released game.
Even though the studio, Hangar 13, isn`t planning to release official details about the game’s title or specifics about in- game features, we have been told that the developer are working with the best team of professionals assembled, and they will use the latest graphics engine and technology available to make sure that players will never forget the experiences they will enjoy while playing the first Hangar 13 video game.
The team in charge of the project has been involved in different franchises such as Dead Space, Assassin`s Creed, Splinter Cell and Star Wars.
Haden Blackman stated that during his time at LucasArts he barely “scratched the surface “ of the gaming experience he can offer other players, also declaring himself a devoted gamer. Thus he promised to go all-in in this new project, making every possible effort to offer the best player experience in which gamers will be able to impact the characters around them and the world around them, as well both on a micro-level and macro-level of the virtual environment in which the game takes place.
When asked where the name Hangar 13 came from, Blackman said “We are actually in a series of refurbished military hangars that have been turned into development space.”
Blackman believes that Hangar 13 is more than a job, in his opinion “Hangar 13 is a culture”, and the team he’s working with has a lot to do with that culture, thus he encourages young talents to follow him in this quest for the ultimate gaming experience.
