The smartwatch world gets more competitive. Even Microsoft decided to reengage with wearable products. To strengthen the team around the iWatch, Apple recruited TAG Heuer sales executive. The announcements and rumors in the last two years built up incredibly high expectations for Apple iWatch. Everyone expects each new product launched by Apple to be a premium device. But to live up to the challenge, this time Apple assembled a super team around the iWatch production. Apple hasn’t shone as much after Jobs passed away. iPhone 5S has not been more than a modest upgrade of the previous model and a slight improvement in comparison the 4th version. Not so many revolutions from Apple in the last while. What could the iWatch possibly feature that will make us love Apple once again? We do not doubt that the hardware and the software will run exactly as intuitively and as seamlessly as the previous Apple products. The newly launched Android Wear already impressed some people though its functionality, although the beta version can surely be improved. Motorola Moto 360, for example, impresses with its stylish classical design.
Apple recruited TAG Heuer sales executive for iWatch launch and assembles a star-team
The new member of the iWatch team is Patrick Pruniaux, the former VP of Sales and Retail of TAG Heuer. The Swiss company produces luxury watches and Pruniaux is a huge loss for them, as rumors say that TAG Heuer plans to produce smartwatches as well. The move makes perfect sense for Apple. Pruniaux will deliver exactly what the company needs right now, an even better understanding of luxury watches clientele. Moreover, TaG Heuer is a widely recognizable luxury watches company, in comparison to other peer companies and this has a lot to do with its aggressive marketing.
The former TAG Heuer employee will join an iWatch star-team. Among other experts on medical sensors, engineers and fitness experts, many of them come from Nike. Tim Cook, Apple CEO, was very appreciative to Nike Fuel Band, the company fitness oriented wrist device. Angela Ahrendts, former Burberry Chief Executive became Apple’s Head of Retail and Online Sales about two months ago. Another star playing for Apple since last year is Paul Deneve from Yves Saint Laurent, according to The Financial Post. His position covers special projects. The iWatch will probably, and finally, be presented this fall together with the iPhone 6. Both devices will run iOS 8, an OS version designed with wearables in mind. During the interview for CNBC, TAG Heuer CEO, was the first to actually reveal a transfer to Apple. Apple recruited TAG Heuer sales executive, but it was not the only attack on the Swiss company. Rumors say that other TAG Heuer employees were unsuccessfully courted as well by Apple.
