The Walking Dead franchise has definitely proved its worth in three medias now, comics, TV and video games. Even though Terminal Reality’s take on The Walking Dead didn’t do much justice to the franchise, Teletale’s episodic game has gain huge amounts of viewers and the second season is one of the most hyped games right now.
We may not be waiting much longer, Teletale Games have announced The Walking Dead: Season 2 will be coming sometime this month, hopefully before Christmas. The game will take place in the same universe as the previous season and a few months/years after the events of season one.
Teletale previewed another character from the first season who will return with Clementine, one of the main characters. We believe the story will move into the parallel with the events on The Walking Dead: 400 Days, adapting what happened in season one.
In terms of actual functionality, Teletale added small new parts into every episode in the past, from shooting to stealth, all in small quantities. We wonder if they will add any new functionality with the new main character and whether there will be any defects to playing as Clementine.
There has still only been one interaction between the story on the TV and the story in the game, that is Glenn, who was in the first episode before saying he would go into the middle of the city to find his friends – this then leads onto the TV show where Rick is stranded in the middle of the city.
We wonder if we will see other characters in the TV show or in the comics turn up in the video game, Teletale seems to be building their own story with 400 Days, but there may be some added characters that are recognisable from comics or the TV show, although with the TV show they will have to not collide or impact the other story.
