How Desired The New Windows 10 Is

How Desired The New Windows 10 Is

You might have seen the major hype that Windows 10’s release caused last summer, but have you ever wondered how far the new operating system went? It appears that it’s quite a blast, running on around 110 million devices all over the world. Microsoft made the declaration yesterday, showing how desired the new Windows 10 is. But it’s not all about the hype, it’s about Microsoft’s efforts too.

Ever since they released Windows 10, Microsoft mentioned that one of their major goals is to make it run on the majority, if not all, of the compatible devices in the world. PCs, tables, phones and other devices are encouraged to try the new operating system, making things a lot smoother, faster and keeping all your information safe across all platforms. A worthy vision, but also a dangerous one.

Microsoft is also pushing its operating system forward with the new devices that they are releasing. The Surface Pro Tablet, the Surface book and the Lumia smartphones are all running Windows 10, ensuring that it is widely spread as fast as possible. There is still a lot of ground to cover, but given the fact that the user number almost doubled within a month, things are looking pretty good for Microsoft. People are getting it and that is how desired then new Windows 10 is.

Windows 10’s major downside is that it stores your information permanently. It “gives feedback” to Microsoft about the apps you are using, sites you are accessing and whatever else you decide on your device. The worst part is that you cannot control this, since this detail is mentioned in the terms of use.  If you are using Windows 10, you already agreed to have all your information exported, which is kind of freaky if you think about it.

Of course, Microsoft promises discression and that they will never give your name or personal information to anyone else, but the truth is that you never know what can happen behind the behind the scenes. Microsoft can sell your information to anybody who is willing to pay for it. It creates “user profiles” that reflect their preferences. From that to giving your name there is only one more step.

So there is another angle from which we can look at this news. One hundred and ten million users do not really have privacy on their devices anymore. And it looks like more and more of us are going to try and sell our private life for extra comfort.
