Not only singers shout “Please stand up”-the Stir Kinetic Desk M1 also does. Stir Company has developed a smartdesk which is programmed to register daily routine. Instead of sitting endless hours having back pains, the desk tells when it is the appropriated time to move.
After remembering work routine, the desk advises the user to stand up. Afterwards, it raises its legs so its user can still do its paper work. After a couple of minutes, it lowers back to its initial position so the user can sit.
The desk is quite an innovation in technology. It does not only have motorized legs, but they are quite ones so the noise would not interfere with its’ users work.
The Stir Kinetic Desk M1 is the second model launched by Stir. The previous one was named F1 and was more expensive and hard to manage. By comparing the two desks, the M1 costs less, it is not as heavy as the previous model and its features are more “friendly”. The touchscreen console is wider so it makes it easier to tap.
It is equipped with amazing features considering it is only a desk. The Stir Kinetic Desk M1 has:
- 1GHz CPU
- Wi-Fi
- Bluetooth connection
- A touchscreen console which is 5-inch wide and runs with Linux
- 25 to 51 inch height range
When acquiring the smartdesk, the user must not forget to plug it in a power source. The desk already has four power outlets which are placed in it.
If the user want to adjust the height of the desk it is only necessary a tapping of the touchscreen. The touchscreen is placed in the left corner of the M1.
Moreover, the desk is also programmed to announce its user when he should stand, move around or change positions. The announcement is discretely realized through the “Whisperbreath”. The subtle Whisperbreath is designed after the human one. When the user hears the sound he should either move or ignore the sound by double tapping it.
The touchscreen console records how many hours the user has been standing and how many it has been sitting. The desk is equipped with thermal sensors which depict when the user is changing positions or is away. It is also designed with a Fitbit feature which recognizes the user’s personal settings.
Physiology experts recommend a change of position every hour in order to maintain a healthy body. It is quite hard for stand for eight or ten hours straight.
