Homeworld Remastered Collection will be released on February 25. Exceptionally good news comes for those who have awaited the space battle game which also has real-time features. On Sunday, Gearbox Software announced the classics’ reseal will be in one month.
Since the official date of Homeworld Remastered Collection was announced pre-orders have been placed online. Those who purchase the game earlier will benefit from a 15 percent discount. The game is opened for buyers on Steam.
Homeworld Remastered Collection contains Homeworld and Homeworld 2 which have been modified so that players can enjoy Ultra HD resolutions. Besides the two games, players will also receive the original versions of Homeworld with access to Steam multiplayer beta. The latter one automatically launches Homeworld in a multiplayer content in both games.
At the latest press release, game officials claimed that the game is composed by 15 year-old code and newly ones which are to be further developed by fans. As the game progresses, fans’ feedback will help improve the game even more.
Homeworld is a game with huge 3D space battles, all based on a storyline. It is reviewed as one of the best strategic games of all times. The original game was released in 1999. Its original soundtrack was composed by Paul Ruskey who was highly praised for his melodies. Relic Entertainment originally developed the game. The Chief Creative Officer at Gearbox Software, Brian Martel states in a press conference that he feels extremely proud of his developers and team’s work in reference to this game. It was due to the team’s hard work that this great strategic game could be brought up to modern computers.

Gearbox Software purchased the Homeworld project three years ago when its publisher THQ went into bankruptcy. THQ sold all of its assets in Decemeber 2012 and sold the game. Homeworld Remastered Collection is actually the first step towards a fresh, new start of the franchise. The following one will be Homeworld Shipbreakers. The next project, Shipbreakers is programmed to be a sequel to the current series.
