If you were one of the unlucky ones, you’ve noticed that the latest Assassin’s Creed Unity was released with a lot of bugs. Many wondered how would Ubisoft permitted such a thing to happen. Luckily, the bugs were fixed right away and patches were quickly released. Still, it was a very unpleasant experience for the die-hard Assassin’s Creed fans who had been waiting for the new game for a long time.
Ubisoft is trying to atone for the mistake and announced it will be offering the first DLC for the Assassin’s Creed Unity free of charge.
This is not the first time a major game company releases a new product filled with bugs. The PlayStation 4 exclusive Driveclub players had similar issues with the online game. In order to make it up to them, the game developers offered a free subscription, similar to the one offered by Assassin’s Creed Unity. It would be much easier for the game developers to thoroughly double check their products before releasing it and that would save everyone a lot of trouble.
Yannis Mallat apologized on behalf of the entire team of Ubisoft and also confirmed that the Assassin’s Creed Unity Dead Kings DLC will be offered free of charge, as an apology gift.
Mallat also announced that the third patch of the Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released and it will bring several fixes for certain issues concerning the game’s performance and stability.
Mallat wrote:
“Unfortunately, at launch, the overall quality of the game was diminished by bugs and unexpected technical issues. I want to sincerely apologize on behalf of Ubisoft and the entire Assassin’s Creed team. These problems took away from your enjoyment of the game, and kept many of you from experiencing the game at its fullest potential.”
Assassin’s Creed Unity is set in Paris, in the 18th century, in the midst of the French Revolution. The users play as Arno Dorian, who is looking to revenge after both his father and adoptive father are killed.
Ubisoft concluded its apology statement saying:
“We will continue striving to make Assassin’s Creed one of the most ambitious and innovative franchises on the market, and we thank you for your continued loyalty and support.”
