According to the project, you use your rear wheel in order to fashion of unicycle.
Ford has just released a statement in which the car giant announced that is has filled in a new type of patent. According to their statement, Ford put together a unicycle using a car wheel.
As fantastic as would seem at first glance, the car giant has actually managed to put off a very cool stunt. According to the schematics released by Ford, their new car models can be equipped with a device capable of transforming the wheel of a car into a fully functional unicycle.
Now, according to the same statement, Fort forwarded this patent in order to showcase the idea of a fully-integrated urban vehicle. The sketch shows us, step by step how we can turn the wheel of a car into a fully functional mini-vehicle.
According to Ford, the new sketch details the idea of a “self-propelled unicycle engageable with vehicle”. Let’s take a closer look at the sketch itself. As we can see, the first step in getting you unicycle ready for action is to jack up your car. After doing this, the driver will then proceed on removing the read car wheel.
With the rear car, wheel removed, the driver can now open the car trunk and take out the rest of the unicycle. According to the schematics, the unicycle is formed from two pieces: the wheel of the car, which has special brackets, and the unicycle’s body, which features the braking, steering and acceleration system.
The second part of the unicycle is supposed to be located in a special compartment inside the car’s trunk. After removing both the rear wheel and the unicycle’s body, the driver can now proceed into assembling the unicycle.
The unicycle can be easily assembled by taking a look at the schematics. After following all this steps, you can now jump on your DIY super unicycle and take it for a spin around the block.
But before considering asking when will this technology become available, we should pause and ponder on the following issue: what can we use this unicycle for? I mean, it is really nice this whole vehicleception, but it’s quite difficult this transformation process.
Imagine this scenario: your car breaks down in traffic, your phone is dead, but you do seem to remember something about a car service a couple of blocks away. It could be rather awkward to begin tearing down your car in order to put another vehicle to life.
Nevertheless, Ford’s patent was approved, but we don’t if the Ford is actually going to put together such a car.
