Tinder Matches Most Likely to Be Obtained at 9 P.M.

January 28, 2016 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

Tinder matches Tinder matches are most likely to be obtained at 9 p.m., because that’s when the largest number of singles access the dating app, a recent report published by Nielsen has revealed.

You may be familiar with Nielsen Media Research due to its Nielsen ratings, why basically keep track of TV viewership, thus allowing network executives to decide more easily which shows should be axed, and which should be renewed.

Apparently, the New York City-based research corporation doesn’t focus on television audiences exclusively; it also provides Electronic Mobile Measurement services, in order to closely monitor cell phone usage as well.

Nielsen is always updated regarding the market share of each mobile network carrier, and keeps track of mobile behavior, in order to determine what members of the public mobile advertisers should be focusing on, and how successful their marketing efforts have been so far.

This is achieved by examining cell phone bills pertaining to 65,000 users, server logs kept by cellular companies, as well as data collected through on-device meters installed on approximately 9,000 iOS and Android handsets.

Recently, one such study investigated the users’ engagement with Tinder, a mobile app that’s currently used by more than 50 million people seeking to find a partner.

Apparently, in order to increase your chances of getting Tinder matches, you should be using the program somewhere between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m., because that’s when the largest number of users log in.

Given that Tinder usually tends to show you profiles of people who are active and online at the same time with you, by checking in during peak hours you will have a larger number of candidates whose photos you might be tempted to swipe right on.

Apparently, the safest bet in order to ensure as many Tinder matches as possible is to use the service at around 9 p.m. because at that time around 51.64% of the subscribers are actively searching for a potential date.

If you’ve missed that peak of activity, you can try logging in at around 4 p.m., since that’s when 50.61% of the members are using Tinder, even though most of them are probably at work or in class during that time of the day.

Aside from these two high points, between midday and midnight the probability that a Tinder user will be fiddling with the app remains relatively steady, at around 40%.

In contrast, accessing the app late at night or during the early hours of morning is likely to prove disappointing. Especially between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. there are much fewer active members, and thus the chances of getting any Tinder matches will automatically be greatly reduced.

On the other hand, if you’re an early riser and have no time to spare in the evening or afternoon, you could give OkCupid a try instead, especially since the service has proven successful in bringing people together ever since 2004.

It seems that while the app becomes more heavily used from 6 p.m. and reaches its peak popularity somewhere around 9 p.m., it’s also frequently accessed during the morning, between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. OkCupid also has small bursts of activity throughout the day, especially in the afternoon, or in the early evening.
