Xbox 720 Release Date Rumors – Sources Suggest Microsoft to call it the “Xbox Infinity”

May 14, 2013 By Mary Duncan Leave a Comment

Inquisitive Xbox fans around the world are too busy with their tattletales about the next Xbox, with just days left for its official launch. While there have been plenty of talks about its looks, speed, functionality, features, etc., many are eager to know its name. Based on latest info, some analysts are expecting Microsoft to call it the “Xbox Infinity.”

Xbox-Infinity

The new name has been picked up from a logo bearing the symbol of infinity – an “8” lying on its side. For a quite a while, the industry has been referring to the new console as Xbox 720. Some have referred to it as Project Durango, the codename of the development package. Another source has revealed that Microsoft has registered many domains based on the name “Xbox Fusion.” Another rumored name is “NeXtBox.”

After Sony unveiled its PlayStation 4 in February, Microsoft revealed the arrival of the next console, but with hardly any hints on its advancements. The console is expected to feature new x86 architecture, with 8-core Jaguar processing chips. Among the interesting features, the device will provide PC-quality gaming, enable connection to cable boxes for live TV, and use Blu-ray optical media. Latest news from Ars Technica says that it can be played without an Internet connection.

It remains to be seen whether the new name – Infinity – will supplant the list of names that have been rumored for quite some time. The official release is just around the corner, scheduled for May 21st at Microsoft’s Redmond base.  In fact, Microsoft invited the world’s media for the launch event, which is set to unveil a new generation of games. A June event in Los Angeles is expected to reveal much more of the new creations of Microsoft and Sony.

Xbox 720 May 21 Release Date to Feature XBox Playing without Internet!

May 7, 2013 By Micheal Baptiste Leave a Comment

Rumors that Microsoft’s next Xbox, which is already being called Xbox 720 will function only in the presence of an Internet connection are no longer a matter of concern. Based on an internal Microsoft email sent to Xbox engineers, Ars Technica has reported that you can play the new Xbox, codenamed Durango, without Internet.

Microsoft recognizes that many of its users are interested in playing without an Internet connection, and the upcoming Xbox will fulfill their desire in several ways, including playing a Blu-ray disc, playing a single player game, and watching live TV.

Among the major features, the new device will use Blu-ray optical media. The device will sport an HDMI input, which will let you hook up cable boxes to enable live TV viewing. In fact, the console will be an all-purpose device with the potential to transform your living room experience.

At present, Xbox players can access disc-based games without Internet, though the console offers additional features with Internet connection. But, many players don’t seem to bother about extra features and some seldom connect their console to the web.

More information on the extent of offline support is yet to be revealed. It could resemble the offline support on Xbox 360, allowing you to insert an optical disc, install the game and play with no Internet connection. Or, it could work similar to Steam, where you install and activate the game online, but switch on to offline play after that.

Playing the next-generation Xbox without Internet connection is definitely great news for Xbox fans. You can learn more about the device at the official release scheduled for May 21st 2013 at an event in its Redmond Campus. In the same event, Microsoft is set to launch its Call of Duty Ghosts, alon with Xbox 720, planning to provide more details on it at a June press conference.

May 1, 2013 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

Microsoft and Sony are supposed to launch their next generation gaming gadgets by the end of 2013, which are expected to bring a notable change in the world of digital gaming.

Microsoft has delivered hot news about their new generation Xbox. The date for unveiling its specs and fascinating features is set to be 21st of May. The event is to be organized at the official campus of Xbox at Redmond in Washington and will begin at 10 am.

Microsoft is expected to unveil some fascinating specs of its new generation Xbox at this event after maintaining a stiff silence for so long. You can wait until May 21st to know what Microsoft has been working on.

Along with the next-gen console, we may receive a new generation of entertainment, TV and games.

Ultimately, this gaming beast will officially appear within nineteen days of the unveiling event. It will emerge during the E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) that will be held at Los Angeles.

The assumed price of Xbox 720 is $499, but individuals who buy Xbox Live Gold on 2 years subscription at a rate of $10/month can procure the giant at a lowered price of $299. However, these price tags have sprung up on a rumored platform and their accuracy is unconfirmed.

Rumors indicate that the Xbox 720 will possess similar specs to that of the already-unveiled PS4. The CPU of Xbox 720 will be a 1.6 GHz AMD Jaguar-based one. Rumor-wise, the beast will possess a revised version of AMD’s 7000 graphics series and general system storage capacity of 8GB with separate space for graphics memory. However, we still need to wait until 21st May to know the real specs of Xbox 720 and maybe also something about its launch date.

Xbox 720 Release Date Rumours Round Up – A Sneak Peek at Specs,Features And Pricing

April 7, 2013 By Daniel Giordano Leave a Comment

From past few weeks, we have been hearing various reports that Microsoft will put into its next model in its Xbox series, the 720. Through mid-lifespan upgrade, we saw the launch of S controller and it was put into 360. If you think that Xbox 360 is the ultimate evolution, you would be happy to know that 720 would probably share the same design, but yet offer a whole lot more. The recent announcement of Sony’s PS4 has compelled Microsoft to promote their plans of Xbox 720 launch, ensuring that it matches up with the latest Sony’s offering. According to the sources, 720’s new controllers and otherupdates are done with.

Tentative Specs

Company has decided to make use of the existing controller design, but it’ll surely be aligned with what Sony has recently announced. The main difference between the current and previous controller would be the graphic design.

The new 720 model would be as trendy as 360, without the openly terrible hardware breakdowns that blighted its early days. The new Xbox 720, with its powerful and reliable components has very similar specs as that of Sony PS4. It is also said that the new model will feature reduced graphic effectiveness, and it’s not surprising to see Microsoft following Sony’s foot-steps.

The CPU of the model will be 1.6GHz AMD Jaguar-based just like that of the PS4 again (no points for guessing that!); it would be cross-platform for game developers and much easier to operate than the current platform.

It’s likely to come with AMD’s 7000 graphics that is based on its 28nm GCN tech. Some reports even suggest that console will use 2 GPUs and there won’t be any CrossFire configuration.
The new console is capable of generating 60fps and 1080p and also can handle the processing power needed for 3D rendering. It will have 12 processing clusters and might use comparatively less power.

Release Rumors

It is said that it’ll arrive the market during Christmas of 2013; further reports suggest that Microsoft is planning to shift the release to November or October and might make its debut at E3 this June.
Microsoft hasn’t yet commented on the release dates or pricing, but it is certainly watching the moves of Sony and Nintendo. Tony Bartlet, president of GameStop said that PlayStation 4 console is getting some updates and there is also talk of second console, but it’ll be out only in 2014. Since Sony unveiled PS4, it would make much sense for Microsoft to release Xbox 720 soon enough too; so you can certainly expect to see Microsoft making a move shortly.

Pricing

It is also been heard that new Xbox 720 will have some forced symbiotic connection with the web and most of the details will be out at E3 2013. Looking at the price of the earlier models, Xbox 720 would be competitively priced around$300 (£250).

Many were disappointed when the blast splashes out online regarding the next generation gaming console of Microsoft- Xbox 720. According to one of those who joined its fans club, he described the new gaming device as “very hot, compelling device”.

He mentioned the long time that they are working on it together with Microsoft. He added that the said manufacturer is really doing a great job and is excited to hear the upcoming announcements. In fact, he visualized that many people will be overwhelmed as the device will go public.

Previous reports unveiled the release of this version at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, California. However, there was change of plan as there’s no appearance from the said product at the ongoing GDC 2013.

According to the blast, Microsoft announced that no plans have been created in showing anything at GDC. Instead the Xbox will be revealed at the Electronic Entertainment Expo. You might want to mark June as the month of the said event
Microsoft’s Larry Hyb or you may call him Major Nelson posted a countdown on this blog regarding the E3 event. With this, higher possibility if the new Expo will be introduced.

In the meanwhile, many rumors are spreading all over the internet as to the details of the Microsoft’s latest project. Accordingly, the device will play install-only games, eliminating the disks and cartridges and ushering new game sensation. Another thing is the “always on” capabilities- a constant connection to the internet.

Xbox 720 Release Date – To Feature $299 Price Tag, The release date of Xbox 720 is expected to be somewhere near April 2013

February 24, 2013 By Mary Duncan 1 Comment

Microsoft is trying hard to make a better market position and therefore it is rumored that the company has now decided to come up with their gaming console Xbox 720 in April 2013 that will be Microsoft’s reply to Sony PlayStation 4. The console gaming devices are becoming popular and so is the competition where two top rivals are trying to beat each other out. Although, initially it was said that Microsoft would announce the new Xbox 720 in Christmas 2013 but some insiders claim that Microsoft does not want to feel left out in the market and offer more space to Sony with PlayStation 4 already in the market.

Microsoft has announced that they have worked hard on the new Xbox 720 and the most important thing is that they have tried to eliminate all the hardware failures that haunted Xbox 360 users.

Although, there is nothing that Microsoft has revealed so far but rumors suggest that the console will have AMD 7000 Series graphics which is based on the 28nm Graphics Core Next technology. Some of the sources have said that Microsoft is basically trying to combine the power of two computers into one for the Xbox 720.

Microsoft has decided that the console will be out towards the end of the year 2013 but just before the Christmas holiday season begins. This will be somewhat on the same lines as Sony PlayStation 4. It is rumored that the new Xbox 720 will debut at E3 in April 2013 and will allow gamers and players to have a first look at how the entire console works. Microsoft has also decided that they would pack Xbox 720 with Blu-ray drive and DVR features where the company is trying to lure casual gamers that are not only interested in games but in movies as well. The leaked documents show that Microsoft will price the console at $299 which is a bit higher than Sony PlayStation 4.

Xbox 720 Release Date, Will Require Internet Connection

February 8, 2013 By David Crozier Leave a Comment

It has been a while since Microsoft came out with a new game. For game lovers this has been a wait of six years. Now there are rumours that its Xbox 720 is slated for a June or a September release. It is almost certain that this game will be available before the year comes to an end.The new Xbox 720, priced at $60, is going to have some competition with Sony which is deciding to come out with its PS4.

Codenamed “Durango”, this game will need an internet connection to be played. You will have to get a code on the internet and you will be able to play the game only on that account. This really ties you up to the internet to access this game.

What is adding to this unfortunate leak is that the Xbox is banning used games. It seems logical for the company, considering the huge amounts it has spent in manufacturing these games. It may prove a deterrent to the pirated copies that begin to circulate. This move is likely to bring down the number of people who would like to play the Xbox 720.Its rival Sony is also looking for an internet account system for its play station. It is likely that it will not ban used games.

This game console is likely to have a 800 MHz graphics processor, 8 GB of RAM, 8 CPU cores at 1.6 GHz. It will have a 50 GB 6x Blu-ray drive. According to leaks, it will come equipped with a Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi connect and a gigabit Ethernet port. It will have HDMI, Ethernet, audio return channels and 4 K resolution.
The leaks also suggest that at the moment the chips are being manufactured so that the game can be launched in September.
