ZTE Announces New Product, the ZMAX Phablet

September 17, 2014 By Brandi McCants Leave a Comment

ZTE is number 4 as the largest manufacturers of smartphones in the world. Now they released a new product, the ZMAX phablet. The company wishes to start a new chapter with their new ZMAX model, adding another product to their acclaimed ZTE series. The news about the new ZMAX phablet also talks about how the new model will be available exclusively at the T-Mobile carrier, starting with 24th September. The ZMAX phablet will give customers a combination of good features and fair price. The phablet looks very good and has a nice smooth backside. A curved backside, that is.

What’s cool about ZTE is that the company always tries to bring quality mid range phones to the market. Their goal is to introduce high end handsets at a reasonable price.

ZMAX Phablet

The ZMAX phablet is a LTE type smartphone, which comes with an impressive 3,400 mAh battery, which can last for two whole days in normal use mode. So far, this is the highest battery capacity that the mobile world has seen. The ZMAX phablet has a rear camera of 8MP and a front camera of 1.6MP. The new ZTE smartphone comes with a 1280×720 HD pixels, a 5.7 inch LCD HD display. The display is covered by TFT. The processor is a SNAPDRAGON 400 Qualcom 1.2GHz and it has a capacity of 16GB of internal storage, which can be increased up to 32GB by adding a micro SD card.

Another great feature about the ZMAX is of course, its price. You can get it with a 2 years installments system from T-Mobile.

What do you think about the latest smart device from ZTE, the ZMAX phablet? Would you purchase one? Do you think it comes at a good price for what it can do? If you want to get in touch with us, use the comment section below.

ZTE Nubia 5S mini LTE Version Coming Very Soon

August 20, 2014 By David Leave a Comment

ZTE Nubia 5S mini LTE will bring 4g capabilities to GSM network users. The device comes unlocked, a big plus for those who want to avoid contracts. The mid-range device will cost $280 and it should be available for sale in just a couple of days, until the end of the summer.

ZTE introduced the 5S mini model in the beginning of 2014 at CES, along with other interesting devices.

The ZTE Nubia 5S mini was launched in November 2013. The mini version of ZTE’s flagship smartphone came with decent specs back then. ZTE decided to add LTE capabilities to the mini 5S.

A quad core Snapdragon 400 clocked at 1.2 Ghz powers the smartphone. The device sports a 4.7 inches Sharp IGZO display. The resolution is 1280 X 720, thus offering an acceptable 312 PPI density. The 5S mini LTE is equipped with 2 GB of RAM, which should be more than enough for a couple of applications to run smoothly in the same time. The graphic accelerator is an Adreno 305, enough to technically play Asphalt 8 without any lag.

ZTE Nubia 5S mini LTE comes with faster internet access

The storage options are kind of limited, although it should be sufficient for average users. The internal storage has a 16 GB capacity and despite the microSD expandability, only up to 32 GB cards are accepted. The smartphone can communicate through Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. The handset measures 134.8 x 65.8 x 7.6mm and weighs 120 g. The battery has a total capacity of 2000mAh. The smartphone runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, CNET notes.

ZTE Nubia 5S mini LTE comes with the same impressive set of cameras

One particular feature making the ZTE Nubia 5S mini LTE stand out is the camera. Actually, both cameras, because the front camera produces 5 MP images, a rarity among smartphones. The rear camera is formed out of 5 elements lens and has a F2.2 aperture. The 13 MP rear camera produces stunning photos for a regular smartphone, aided when needed by the LED flash.

ZTE claims that beginners should not encounter any problems when using the camera. Moreover, the camera software offers a ‘Pro’ option. Users will be able to take photographing into their own hands by adjusting various details like contrast and white balance. HDR, burst mode and panorama are among the options available on the ZTE Nubia 5S mini LTE.

ZTE unveils five smartphones and a smartwatch for CES

January 3, 2014 By Nicholas Anderton Leave a Comment

zte-nubia

ZTE has a lot to bring to CES this year, so much that they decided to reveal it a little early. The reveal includes five new smartphones, smartwatch, mini-projector and AT&T Wireless Home Base. The whole lineup looks a bit odd together, but ZTE is known for working in almost all technology hardware markets.

The Grand S II is the king of the show and will be the company’s flagship smartphone for CES. Since it is the most exciting device, ZTE decided to release almost no information in the reveal about it, other than the fact it has three microphones and new noise cancellation technology.

Fortunately, we have already heard quite a bit about the Grand S II, thanks to leaks. The phablet device should come with a 5.5-inch 1080p display and Snapdragon 800 processor, alongside 2GB of RAM and the latest version of Android KitKat 4.4.

Next in the line is the Nubia ZS5 and its smaller sibling the Nubia ZS5 Mini, the two are split by the screen size, the Nubia ZS5 has a 5-inch screen while the Nubia ZS5 Mini comes with a still large 4.7-inch screen, the Nubia ZS5 also comes with a 13MP Sony Exmor RS sensor.

On the large side of the smartphone world, ZTE has added the Iconic Phablet, a 5.7-inch 720p giant. The Iconic Phablet comes packed with a quad-core processor and ZTE has added the ability to run two apps side by side, similar to Samsung and LG’s Android interface.

The last is a little dull, simply because it will only be available on Aio Wireless, a rather unknown carrier in the US, owned by AT&T. The Sonata 4G will come with the Snapdragon 400 chipset, 1GB of RAM and a 5MP camera and as the name suggests, will have LTE capabilities.

Last, ZTE first smartwatch, named the BlueWatch. The smartwatch can connect to a smartphone through Bluetooth and display Facebook and Twitter updates and has the ability to control calls and camera photos.

ZTE smartwatch coming in 2014, but will only work with ZTE phones

November 25, 2013 By David Leave a Comment

smartwatchZTE may still be a name with no device for many in the US and Europe, but they will be the third manufacturer to add a smartwatch to their line of devices, coming sometime next year alongside a slew of other smartphones and tablets.

The move to make a smartwatch is starting to heat up, both Samsung and Sony’s attempts have failed – but this has not stopped Google, Microsoft, Apple, LG, Nokia and now ZTE looking to make a stand in the market and reveal the next generation device.

ZTE will develop the smartwatch similar to the Galaxy Gear, a pretty sad announcement for anyone wanting something different. We believe ZTE will just use Android’s store and layer it with their own skin, as they do with most of their smartphones and tablets.

Another piece of sad news is the ZTE smartwatch will only work with ZTE smartphones, we are not sure if this is because the company cannot get the privilege from other device manufacturers or they simply do not want to incorporate them into their smartwatch project.

ZTE will not be bringing the smartwatch to the US or Europe and will actually keep the project inside of China, like most of their more exciting ideas stay. We cannot say we are saddened by this news, unless there are some significant features the company has not detailed, we expect a Galaxy Gear clone with no real vision.

In the smartwatch battle, we are really waiting for the change in functionality or design to make us want to try out the new device. Google or Apple may be able to change this idea and we hope we do not have to wait too long for the Nexus smartwatch or iWatch.

For now, we are bound to see a few tries from other companies following the Pebble or Galaxy Gear idea, with no real innovation on the design, functionality or software side to make the smartwatch a viable option against the smartphone.
