State police introduces anonymous text and phone hotline for tips about Massachusetts “Baby Doe” where people can send in any information they might have.
Massachusetts authorities are working hard to identify a 4-year-old girl who was found dead on Deer Island in Boston about a month ago. The body was found in a dumpster by a woman who was walking her dog. She became known as “Baby Doe” because she was so young.
This case has horrified the entire nation but so far the police were unable to find out any information about the little girl who was gruesomely murdered and placed in a dumpster. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has created an image of what “Baby Doe” might have looked like, all based on the pictures that they took of the girl’s body.
The image was spread all across the country on any media means possible and the police have reached the conclusion that those people who do know her, who have seen her and who definitely have valuable information on the case are holding back for some reason.
They believe that they might fear for their own life of those of their loved ones and that this is why they have not come forward until now. And so, they have created this completely anonymous text and phone hotline that these people could use without fearing that the police could ever find out who sent in the information.
All they have to do is write a text message that begins with the word “GIRL” written in capital letters, followed by their tip, that could be absolutely anything that they can remember and send it to the number 76283. Or they can directly call 617-396-5655 without having to fear that they might get recognized.
“Someone knows her. To that person, we know that for whatever reason you have not come forward yet (…). Examine your conscious, look into your heart and do the right thing for this little girl,” said Massachusetts State Police Colonel Richard D. McKeon.
Anybody who has any kind of information is asked to send it in, because any small thing could be that defining detail that can change the course of the entire investigation and lead the police on the right track to finding the people who are responsible for this heinous crime.
