Earlier in 2013, HTC announced that the HTC One was going to be the only high-end smartphone it was releasing this year. This might not entirely be true though. We now have a reason to believe that there is at least one more flagship device which could be released before 2013 ends.
Yes, we are talking about the HTC Butterfly 2 (sometimes referred to as the HTC Droid DNA 2) which could be Verizon’s answer for the absence of HTC One’s from their shelves. There have been many previous rumors regarding the Droid DNA 2. But now we have some information from industry insiders. Let’s see what they have to say.
Latest reports coming in from the Taiwanese manufacturer say that the Butterfly 2 is going to be released in the third quarter of 2013. This means we can anticipate a July to September time-frame. The DNA 2 will probably launch at the same time as well.
Now let’s discuss some of the rumored hardware specifications on the device. Sources have reconfirmed that the phone is going to have a Full HD display, UltraPixel camera and BoomSound speakers. This is similar to the specifications of the HTC One. The smartphone is also rumored to have the new Sense 5 interface and BlinkFeed is also going to be included with the Droid DNA 2 and Butterfly 2.
There is a lot we still do not know about these smartphones and we are constantly on the lookout for any updates. Check back here regularly for any updates.
