With the Google I/O conference just round the corner, it’s natural to expect a host of device launches during the period. And it could be anything coming our way, from a new version of the Android operating system, some more insight on the Google Glass or maybe even the new iteration of the Nexus 7 device as well. Of the latter, Google has been maintaining a studies silence and we don’t know for sure what the new Nexus 7 version will be referred to as. However, we can call it as the Nexus 7 2 till Google has something better for us to call the device.
And about the specifications the new Nexus 7 2 is likely to sport, here are a few assumptions that we can make. What will be safe to assume is that the tablet will be seen sporting better specs which sticking to the same price point. That will be challenging no doubt though the market does not seem to have grown enough to pay higher for a tablet even if it is seen sporting better specs. Anyway, here is what the new Nexus might be seen sporting.
First off, the tablet might come with a 7 inch LTPS display having a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which will be better than the retina display as seen on the iPad 4. Other expected features include a 5 megapixel primary camera, NFC, and a 4,000 mAh battery. Also, the tablet will be based on the Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU instead of the Tegra chip that goes into the making of the current version. Also, the tablet will most likely be the launch device for Android 4.3 Key Pie Lime.
These are impressive specs to say the least, which combined with a similar pricing scheme as is evident now will make for a surefire successful device. Let’s just hope Google will have enough of the new Nexus device ready to ensure demand does not outstrip supply.
