It seems a Verizon branded HTC One is forever in the coming. This, while other carriers in the US have been offering the HTC flagship device since months now. We have already been through a lot of rumors and speculation though it seems there hasn’t been enough of that yet. While Verizon never confirmed any of the release date rumors linking it with the premier HTC device, the reality of it eludes us as yet.
As for the reason behind the dilly dallying, it’s anybody’s guess right now. One rumor had it that Verizon would be offering the HTC One from August 1 though with the date about to come and pass and Verizon maintaining its silence, what is a surety is that there is another round of delay in the offing. And the new purported launch date flying around is August 15.
In what can be termed as an interesting turn of events, while it was a leaked Verixon roadmap that has led many to peg the launch date of the HTC device on August 1, it is another leaked document that is pointing to the launch date this time the Verizon HTC one release date is going to be on August 15.
As for possible reasons why the Big Red is not taking on the set is the impending launch of Moto X around the same time. Moto X being a brand new device is sure to generate a lot more buzz than Verizon launching the HTC One that has been in the market for quite some time. They have never been in a hurry to launch the handset and another few weeks of limbo for the device in not expected to do nothing much adverse to the carrier. Verizon is also known to subject its future launch devices to stringent tests which more often taken longer than other carriers. As such, the only consolation for us right now is that the HTC One is indeed coming what with Verizon confirming it in an earlier occasion. The only question right now is when?
