We all know Verizon will finally be launching the HTC One this August and the good news on this front is that the smartphone will run the latest Android 4.2 Jelly Bean right out of the gates. Of course, the news does not have an official backing so far and has its origins in @LlabTooFeR, someone who claims to be the recipient of HTC software builds on a regular basis. However, there does exists some solid reasons to believe the rumors to eventually turn out to be true.
Like Verizon is among the last to launch the HTC One in the US and it will have a strong sales pitch in its favor if it starts off with the smartphone already updated to the latest Android build. This will put it in an advantage vis-à-vis other carriers that has been offering the HTC flagship device since months but is running the slightly older Android version. Considering the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update has just begun to roll out in Asia and Europe, it could be several weeks or even months before those HTC One devices begin transitioning to the latest Android version.
Such a move on part of Verizon will also be hailed by its subscribers since the carrier is notorious for lagging behind others when it is about updating their device to the latest software versions. True the Big Red is believed to follow one of the most strenuous review processes before launching an update, its subscribers will be save the longer wait they would have had to endure if HTC One is launched pre-loaded with an older Android version.
However, an exact release date of the HTC One continues to elude us though some believe it could be alongside the Moto X smartphone which incidentally is rumored to start off with Android 4.3 right away.
