Samsung’s impressive Galaxy S3 smartphone was one of the first to get the second Jelly Bean update, beating out flagship devices from rival brands. So much so that while some were updating from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean, the Galaxy S3 was already boasting the second Jelly bean iteration. Of course, the last update for the Galaxy S3 included Samsung’s own Premium Suite software that came loaded with all kinds of fresh delights.
However, as is becoming a bit of a trend, one carrier has left its Galaxy S3 owners out in the dark by not delivering an updated Jelly Bean experience complete with Premium Suite. Verizon has so far failed to roll out the update, extending the company’s now growing reputation for leaving its customers feeling somewhat unsupported with their devices.
If you are one of those owners then there may be some light at the end of the tunnel, although at the moment it is still but a flicker. Verizon has recently released a piece on its website that is documentation regarding the Jelly bean update for the Galaxy S3 from Samsung. The 4.1.2 updates has been given no release date, which is a little worrying, but we suspect that the update will start rolling out soon, otherwise why would Verizon put it on their website?
However, there is something slightly worrying in the documentation. In the list of upcoming enhancements there is no word regarding Samsung’s Premium Suite. Sure, we get the Bluetooth improvements and enhanced email syncing, but no pack of features that is Premium Suite. Ok, this does not mean it will not be a part of the update, but we are at least a little worried that Verizon is not promoting it.
And with reports gathering pace that there will be no Premium Suite on the Verizon update we are a little miffed that the company keeps treating its customers this way.
