In just two years, Vice has become one of the most appreciated news channels out there, and now some of Vice’s content will be available through Verizon’s services.
Founded in 2013 Vice News has become popular through their unorthodox documentary and news producing methods. Vice broadcasts are straight to the point , honest, and deliver fresh points of view from “heretical” writers .
Pairing up with a mammoth corporation like Verizon would seem weird, but the increasing demand for unusual and original young minded content is defiantly there. Young minds want “young” and fresh content which Vice has never failed to deliver in the past two years.
Verizon on the other hand, has shown interest in expanding and improving their services into the internet ready gadget market. The company bough AOL and had already owned Time Warner, making it one of the global media power houses.
The partnership with Vice comes natural for a company that has sold many of its classic copper phone wire lines and DSL connections and invested the money into projects which are meant to assure a profitable future.
Terry Denson the vice president of strategy and acquisition for Verizon, seems more than optimistic in the partnership with Vice, while his expectations from the new partnership seem to be more than hopeful.
The partnership between the two very different media outlets, is planned to include exclusive Vice content deliver through Verizon’s services and a selection of original videos with a wide range of topics.
Food and travel , autobiographical materials and many more will be delivered to millions of customers through this new partnership which will most likely turn Vice from a “rebel” media source into one of the worlds trend setting information outlets.
Verizon’s Terry Denson said that “”Vice is connecting with an entire generation in a way that no one else is and Verizon will connect consumers to Vice in a way that no one else does by combining Vice’s storytelling with the most compelling mobile video platform.”
Hopefully the two seemingly unlikely partners will manage to deliver fresh and original content to a large audience for a long time to come.
