First, beginning on June 9th, in all markets where Xbox One is sold, we will offer Xbox One starting at $399*. This is a new console option that does not include Kinect. For $399, our new Xbox One offering will continue to deliver access to the best blockbuster games like “Titanfall,” “Call of Duty: Ghosts,” “Forza Motorsport 5,” “Dead Rising 3,” and the upcoming “Watch Dogs,” “Destiny” and “Sunset Overdrive.” You will also be able to access popular entertainment apps, such as Twitch, YouTube, and Netflix, as well as watch live TV and use OneGuide. Finally, you will continue to be able to use many of the unique features of Xbox One including the ability to get game invites while you watch TV, switch between games and entertainment apps, enjoy Twitch broadcasts, and upload your favorite gaming moments.
Everything looks fine and dandy until you notice that the XBOX without Kinect will cost $100 dollars less. This financial strategy pushes the XBOX closer to the price range of its all – times competitor, the Play Station 4. In other words, Microsoft is reaching out to its fans and its future potential customers by delivering them a product that is still high on quality, but lower on price. Is the XBOX One without Kinect going to be successful? If you listen to the word on the street, gamers will actually have no problem with this, as they initially pushed back on Kinect, considering it wasn’t of much use to them.
To give even more perks to the XBOX One users, Microsoft also announced that people would still be able to access apps like Netflix without having to pay the $60 Xbox Live Gold membership.
