Today we’re going to talk about Yahoo updating their Flickr apps. The popular photo sharing service has announced on Thursday the release of the new versions of Android and IOS apps, bringing their users new features and improvements.
The most important new feature is called version 3.0 and looks a lot like Instagram, if you ask us. The improved version allows its users to capture 30 seconds of HD videos which they can edit afterwards with the same filters they use for photos. The editing part is done directly in the Flickr apps. Then you can personalize your short video by adding fragments of footage or by removing them with just a single tap on your phone.
Bernardo Hernandez, Vice President of Flickr wrote on his blog: “At the heart of our Flickr apps is a powerful mobile camera that makes it easy to take and share amazing photos in high resolution.”
The great news for iPhone and iPod users is that the new Flickr apps feature 14 live filters which you can use to see how the picture will look before you take it. The updated camera also comes with some new cool editing tools that will help you work on your photos by adjusting the colors balance, the levels and the exposure time. Also, the Flickr apps come feature a smart search engine that is faster than ever. You know that you had to wait at least three seconds when you searched for something. That’s all gone. With the new search engine you’ll have your search results in just 30 milliseconds. That’s pretty fast.
You also get the new version of Audio Sync which automatically uploads all the photos you have on your phone directly in your Flickr account. If you didn’t know, you get 1TB of free storage from Flickr, which can hold about 500,000 photos.
